Yesterday, I disregarded what it appeared would happen and instead anticipated what happens the majority of the time (dying over my area and immediately restrengthening to the southeast). It turned out to be a good decision.

Western Canada is littered with thunderstorms this afternoon... but not central and southern Saskatchewan

Some really violent rainfall here today, no thunder, but definitely noteworthy stuff. I don't think the accumulation (estimated as 9.3 mm by SMHI) was that great. It was just strong short-term intensity, more akin to why summer accumulation is heavier here for fewer rain days.

It has rained on one day this month. Northern England is in one of the longest "thunderstorm droughts" (actually, no, the longest) ever known. Last time I saw a thunderstorm in this part of the country was 13th September, 2016. That's a LONG time. Doesn't look like this month will produce any either up here. A weak cold front crosses the country today but there isn't enough CAPE in this area to produce anything, so it will probably be drizzle or light rain. I miss storms.

Had a storm earlier, one strike almost made it into northern England, close but no cigar Although there was a decent storm close to Leeds at the same time.

Apparently Linton on Ouse has had some thunder and lightning, not sure about rain, but I'm guessing there's been some. Nothing at all of anything here in York though.

Clouds from a strong t-storm in the area this evening, a bit unexpected. The heavy rainfall stayed to my south; quite a bit of lightning. I only got 0.14" but looks like areas nearby got 1-3 inches.

A couple of hours ago we had the heaviest thunderstorm of the year (until now), overall it rained for more than one hour and in the peak of intensity we even had 10 minutes of hail, which up to my village is extremely rare. It was not large hail, not larger than 1 cm, but even my parents have never seen that kind of hailstorm here in the village before. So that it was also raining sideways, we also had quite a lot of water entering from the front door ^ In the video you can also hear my cat reaching the window where I was filming and then starting to cry because he was really afraid of that hail, and also me trying to comfort him. Just after we brought him indoor and he is completely ok right now.

Just before I went to sleep last night, there was a line of storms moving through central Indiana and Ohio. Even though the sky was totally clear here, I could see very faint flickers on the horizon now and then. Below is the radar at the time I’m referring to. It’s amazing when you can see lightning more than 100 miles away.

Expecting thunderstorms this evening. Checked the rain radar map and it shows rain over parts of London and more intense storms over northern France. So hoping we get a good dumping of rain.

1 hour and 20 minute thunderstorm just lifted. Not very dense, but certainly long-lasting for this location:

Meanwhile as the thunder has returned to the Nyköping area now a couple of hours later, the counties of Blekinge and Kronoberg in Sweden's south-east would get full knot approval for being epic!

I don't want to reveal exactly where i live in perth, but im south-east of the city centre somewhere in that light blue area; most of the rain seemed to pass around or form south and west of us (the massive cell between jandakot and kwinana developed over my head in the mid afternoon). Got a 25-30 minute period of occasional lightning and very faint thunder. 4.0mm of rain in Perth Metro, 13.2mm at Jandakot Airport, 4.8mm at Swanbourne (5km of the Fremantle dot on the map) and only 0.6mm at the airport.

For 2018:
Fucking epic storms: September 25 Good storms: July 16, September 21
Maybe 6-8 other t-storms with minimal thunder and barely any lightning. Probably missed a few at night and while I was on vacation.
Not a good year for storms although the one on September 25th was among the best in years.
