6°C and breezy on a nearby hilltop: -24°C and still at the bottom of the sinkhole: Such a temp diff over a few dozen meters of elevation difference could actually catch an uninformed hiker off guard. This makes me want to take a ride to one of these places and take a morning stroll there. Case in point, here's a vid of hikers that thought they'd camp in -1°C temps instead the -23°C they got as they camped on the edge of the sinkhole in the OP. Luckily for them apparently, they didn't opt for the bottom of the frost hollow:

Time to revive this thread (non that there aren't interesting readings in the warm season btw).
The Amburnex-Combe station near Geneva dipped down to -10.3°C/13°F on the equinox. No interesting readings since then due to the absence of radiative conditions.

The Absolute Champion of Southern Finnish frost Lappeenranta Konnunsuo bog has recorded a temp below freezing FOUR times this June, with the lowest being -2.7C and -2.2C.
Record is 6, so that should be safe.

Huge contrast in terms of lows between Nice and the numerous frost hollows in its back country.
4.6°C/40°F the other morning in Gréolières (1400 m asl) vs 28.6°C/83°F at Nice airport 25 km to the south, and even 30.1°C/86°F in Menton. If you can't sleep at night on the French Riviera you know where to head to.

Curious to see how cold are the frost hollows/naturally colder minima spots in lower latitudes. Coen recorded 33°F/0.6°C at 13.9°S and low elevation, I wonder if any of the nearby areas/cold pockets recorded a freeze that day
