I created this estimate of the Central London climate by looking at the temperature differences between LWC and Heathrow over a 10 year period, and then applying the necessary corrections to the Heathrow temperatures. Sunshine hours are from a paper I found online. Rainfall is from Greenwich as that is the closest station with accessible rainfall data. This is also better to compare with the Paris climate on wiki, which is from the UHI (Heathrow should be compared with Orly). What do you think? Better or worse than Heathrow?

B
Very pleasant means all around, certainly better than more suburban areas. I'd imagine air quality to be low, which would probably confine it to B- or C+ in real life, but it looks okay. I especially like September and the prolonging of summer with those 13°C lows. Cooled-down Oviedo if I may say that.

Really dull climate, but very livable. I give it an E for being comfortable.

I lived in London for 12 years (well, closer to heathrow than this place), and it was an inoffensive climate. Mild, cloudy winters, dry, and mostly pleasant if a bit cloudy summers. Nothing really interesting, certainly no real snow, but the odd thunderstorm sometimes happened. D overall.

C–, by inland standards. Diurnals too narrow, lack of heat, nonexistant storms and too much overcast stratocrap. Not enough frost in winter, too (as cloud cover would moderate its lows from dropping below average).

Pretty ugly climate with its very mild winter lows. I prefer Heathrow as it's a tad less moderated. It's a D- for me.
Agree with the comparison thing, it's pointless to compare Heathrow with Montsouris. A weather station somewhere like Hyde Park or Regent's Park would be the closest equivalent to Montsouris. Doesn't the Met Office manage a station in St James's Park or something? Can't remember.

It gets storms alright - the storm of 1987 smashed up Kew Gardens, and its had a number of damaging tornadoes over the years. Also saw the most intense lightning storm in my life there in 1999 (strobe lightning, not good for epileptics). London has more storms than Melbourne/Adelaide (by recorded thunder days a year at least).

Heathrow is preferable - slightly.

15 is average, not as many as would satisfy you then, but it's certainly not "non existant".

Grade A, simply fuckin' awesome!!!!!!! (>_<)// Just increase average highs by 0.5°C and decrease average lows by 0.5°C in all months to make diurnal range 1°C larger.
Edit: My ideal climate has similar extreme values of London Heathrow and average temperatures about at midpoint between Heathrow and Paris-Montsouris.

I made an A+ climate based on the original climate table. Modification Temperature: +0.5°C(Feb/Mar/Jun), +1.0°C(Apr), +1.5°C(May) Diurnal Range: +1°C(All months) Precipitation: +10mm(All months; +120mm annual total) Sunshine: +10(Jun), +20(Apr, Sep, Oct), +30(Mar, Nov), +40(Jan, Feb, Dec)

Impressive UHI but it doesn't address London's biggest issue - cloudiness. I give this a D whereas Heathrow would be a D-.

Indeed, cloud is London's biggest issue.

Interestingly, Oviedo also shows the decrease in sun hours (at least percentage-wise), from May to June, before the high pressure re-establishes itself in July and August. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oviedo#ClimateParis doesn't see it as much: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geography_of_Paris#Climate

Why isn't it a match? The weatherboxes are similar. London is drier, a bit cloudier, and a bit more continental. Are the weather patterns different or something?
In July, London is 24/15 and Oviedo is 23/15 In January, London is 8/4 and Oviedo is 12/5 Yearly average is 12.3 in London and 13.3 in Oviedo Extremes in London are 38/-13 and Oviedo 36/-6 London gets 592mm precipitation versus 962 London gets 1637 sun hours versus 1756

Certainly an upgrade over Heathrow. Longer green period and better for evergreens, and less cold weather. Still too cloudy for my taste but 2500+ hours of sunshine might be enough to warrant an A. As it is though it gets a C+.
