We hit 71 (22 C) in February, but March won’t come close and it doesn’t look like April will start off warm so when will the first 70 of the spring happen?
I’m going April 21-30 but I really really really hope it’s sooner.

May 1-10; probably early within the first half of that span.
I think seasonal lag will continue to plague the area, but by that time sun angle should be high enough so that a day around 21-22°C should be able to slip through.

Has an April that hasn't reached 70°F happened there before? Typical first 70°F for Rochester is first week of April, though winter 70°F skew the averages. Checked last time April in Rochester didn't reach 70°F+ was 1989. Typical Aprils average 4 / month. I picked April 11-20, though April 20-30 could be it, too

Well in late February it was a major shock heat spike for New York State, but evidently 2018 might not be a normal year. This spring has reminded me of 1987 in many ways, even over here.

The latest first 70 ever was May 20 in 1873. That was also the year with the coldest April record high at just 61 (16 C). nei Just 7 of 145 years has the 1st 70 come in May, most recently in 1965. So the odds are good we’ll hit 70 in April, but then with this shitty laggy spring it wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t.

most of the laggy cold early Springs recently ended up with a warm week eventually. Hard to keep the same pattern week after week. April 2007 got warm for a bit second half; I remember a 75°F. But yea, it could keep up.

I'd say April 10th. It not going above 70 F in April would be highly unusual in Rochester.
Hell, my crystal ball tells me that 80 F might be a possibility before the end of April as well.

Given this horrible shitty pattern it might not be for a while. Got a feeling that it will be around the 25th of April
Btw Bunghole 'only' reached 69F this February, so we're still waiting for our first. Fuck these laggy springs

After May 21st jajajajajaja I wouldn't be surprised given the way these past few springs have gone I'm guessing May will go the usual route; nasty cold 50F drizzle for three weeks, and the last week we turn into fucking Dubai and get a 95F heatwave. Happens every single fucking year here

Any one who picked before April 1, April 1-10, and almost certainly April 11-20 was wrong. Highest in the first 3 weeks of April will probably be 14-16 C, nowhere close.

Poor Rochester, even Bunghole might reach 70F this weekend. The Great Lakes are fucking cancer this time of year

Fuck it, changing my prediction to after May 21. No chance it happens in April, almost certainly not first 10 days of May, probably late month, every may has hit 70 ever.

Okay, today hit 70 (21 C) so April 23 is correct. bizzy and @gioreaux were both 2 days off. I had the right date range but didn’t specify.
