London had a strange year in 2011. It was a cloudy, dry year (despite having an extremely wet summer). Summer was the coldest since 1993, very wet and among the cloudiest on record. Though 2011 was an improvement over 1993, as the shoulder seasons (especially spring), were notably warmer than average. April was the warmest on record. How would you rate 2011, and do you prefer it to the normal climate?

D. July-August was shameful that year. Lots of chances of settled and mild weather between April-October however so not the worst year.

C+ I'll take those shoulder seasons. Crummer would've been a disappointment either there or here (22/12 in July), but at least here we got never before seen epic lightshows of thunder over the archipelago that year...

Very "meh" type and boring. Nothing much going on here, but very inoffensive. I'd rate it an E.

Solid F for me.
That's not a wet summer and 20" of rain annually is still very dry for such a climate. As much as I complain about the suicide weather in Vancouver, at least the summers are decent here (albeit too dry for my taste).

That is a very wet summer, in terms of rainfall and rain days. It was also one of the cloudiest summers on record. D

Grade B+. Quick warm up in April then stabilizes until well into October-November looks amazing with below average conditions in summer. If the lowest five months in terms of sunshine hours had 30~60 extra hours each month, it could be in the A category for sure.

E+
Garbage. Gains points for the spring warmup, but loses points for cloudiness and those crummers.

I wonder which years would get the best reaction on here? Unfortunately Heathrow opened in 1948 so 1947 is out. Maybe 1959 (cold winter, warm/sunny summer) or 2003 (warm summer and autumn, sunny spring and summer)?
