June-August was perfect in 1899, so it wins.

1949 was very awesome though downside would be temperatures in March, May / precipitations in June, July, October / excessive sunshine hours in June, July.

1911. Most exciting of the lot.

1949 for me too, none of those years had much winter anyway so I might as well go for the one with the most sun/warmest temps.

I'll go with 1911 for having the most wintry Jan-Apr period. The differences aren't really significant though.

Southampton has data between 1855 and 2000, but the early years don't have any sun data. Here are a few more crazy years from Southampton! 1893 (looks like it missed out on the SE drought, where London has no rainfall for 74 days) 1895 (the first year with sun data): crazily cold winter for the south coast, with September the warmest month of the year and a terrible July. 1921 (an upgraded 2011)

Why are they all above normal years lol I picked them because they were interesting years. They aren't all above normal. 1911 has average temps and 1895 was a cool year.

1895 looks like a fun year. At least for that region of the world.

If 1895 was a normal year in the Southern UK, then perhaps I'd respect the British climate.

1911. Coincidentally also the globally coldest year on record.
1895 looks amazing!

1949 is clearly the best in the poll, 1921 is the best of the other options. It's like if 2011 actually had a summer.
