I think the averages will land a bit above average, I haven't checked the data yet, but that 25°C day and heat spike will make it highly unusual. I'll update the OP tomorrow once I can do a full weatherbox.  |

April 2018 in west, central Europe has been temperature wise not normal but very noticeably above average  Daily mean deviations for instance: Stuttgart +4.8°, Vienna +5.0°, Paris +3.3°, Brussels +3.2°, Strasbourg +4.1°, Luxembourg +4.2°, Hannover +3.6°, Cologne +4.0°, Frakfurt am Main +4.0°, Prague +4.6°, Warsaw +4.8°, Budapest +4.6°, Berlin +4.3°. And some other places what I did not mention had deviations of much above +2c as well.  A good Russian source.  |

From what I glanced the data about a few days ago, Terre Haute will likely to have closer to March than April in averages(temp-wise) and Paris will likely to have closer to May than April in averages.

April was a very cloudy, wet month. April followed the trend of a lot of spring/summer months recently, seeing many below average, dull and/or damp days with a sudden warm spell lasting 2-3 days at some point.   |

April has been exceptionally warm for Tableland standards, across all three regions (Southern; Central; Northern). It is most certainly cooling down now, with frequent sub-freezing temps in the usual frost hollows—Cooma (ST); Blayney (CT); Woolbrook & Walcha (NT).
Higher, more southerly shires such as Upper Lachlan, Oberon, Orange, Blayney, Lithgow, Monaro etc would usually see some sleet or even snow by this time of year. Lithgow & Oberon got close last Friday, with Black Springs reportedly sleeting whilst I was away at Mudgee.

Cold (second-coldest on record, surpassed only by April 1983), with snow recorded on five separate days (1st: 1.1in, 2nd: trace, 8th: 0.8in, 14th: trace, 15th: trace at the official station but there was a dusting on the ground at my location that morning). Dry, with only 28% of the normal precipitation. (Normal: 3.70in, Actual: 1.04in). Snowy, with a snow total of 1.9in against an average of 0.6in - though averages don't really matter when only 7 out of the 30 years in the 1981-2010 observation period reported measurable (more than trace) snow in April. I'll make a climate box now I think, enough averages to be worth it. it's here  |

Record hottest April by a long shot. Max temps 26.1C (+0.5C over 1922), min temps 18.0C (+1.1C over 2016), mean 22.1C (+1.2C over 2005). It was basically a bonus summer month. It was also extremely dry, the five rain days were the last five days of the month. Might be the driest Jul-Apr period on record as well.   |

 Average high: 11.0C (+0.3C) Average low: 4.9C (+1.7C) Mean: 7.9C (+1.0C) Rainfall: 115.2 mm (+58%) Sunshine: ~105 hours (-19%) It didn't feel like an above average month except for a few warm days from the 18th-22nd. The 23.2C on the 19th is only a fraction off our all-time record and the overnight low on 21st/22nd was 13.4C, which would have been a record-warm April low if it hadn't got colder during the day. We had an extreme lack of sun and a lot of rain in the first half of the month which held back foliage growth a bit and prolonged the damp, muddy wintry look, but the second half slightly made up for it. |

April started cold, with the last days of the cold wave. People here talks about the cold winter this year, but that is due to Feb and March. Coldest low in March for more than 100 years! After the first week came almost 14 days with very nice and sunny weather, but the last ca 10 days was cool and pretty grey. Trondheim has seen more sun than Paris for three out of 4 months so far this year. Trondheim AP Værnes: Avg high: 10.5°C Avg low: 1.4°C April 24-hr mean: 5.6°C Average mean was 3.9°C based on 1961-90, and is 5°C based on 1986-2015. Deviation: + 0.6°C. Nothing compared to the deviations in central Europe and France. Precip 84 %.  Røros had avg high 6.3c, avg low -5.3c, mean 0.6c, precip 24 mm, and max snowdepth 65 cm. SE: Drammen near Oslo. Temp + 0.8c compared to 61-90 so near avg for 81-2010.  SW: Stavanger. Temp + 2.2c compared to 61-90 so ca +1.2c compared to 81-2010  Bodø had mean 3.7c. Tromsø (20 m) had mean 2c and 148 sunhrs. Largest snow depth: 114 cm early in the month. |
