The 23.2C on the 19th is only a fraction off our all-time record and the overnight low on 21st/22nd was 13.4C, which would have been a record-warm April low if it hadn't got colder during the day. Ouch, nuts! I hate when that happens.

Synopsis. Lows below average, highs above average. Rainier than average but that was mostly due to heavy storms on a couple days late in the month. Looking at the first 4 months of the year the record warm Feb stands out. Other 3 months were pretty unremarkable.

compared to 1991-mar 2018 avg high: +1.3C mean: +1.0C avg low: +1.5C precipiation: +35% I know FMI, SMHI and MET uses different ways of calculating the mean temp, but wouldn't it be better for us to simply use hi+lo/2 for the sake of comparison?

April 2018 was one of the coldest Aprils ever in Saskatoon, though it didn't beat April 2013 as the all-time coldest thanks to a pretty generous warmup in the last week of the month. Average high: 6.0C (normal: 11.5C) Average low: -7.3C (normal: -1.2C) Precipitation: 9.1mm (normal: 21.8mm) Highest high: 26.2C (28th) Highest low: 4.0C (22nd) Lowest high: -11.7C (5th) Lowest low: -24.6C (6th) 2018 as a whole is nearly 4C below average so far.

Difference with the 1981-2010 average: Average high: +0.4°CDaily mean: 0.0°CAverage low: -0.9°CApril was surprisingly less rainy than March, but it still felt more cloudy and humid, so we didn't water our lawn and I'm expecting we won't need to until spring (unless one of the winter months is dry but that's somewhat rare). When it comes to temperatures the month felt pretty average and the data backs that up, although it shows a slightly larger diurnal range, which could be explained by the amount of rainy days. No snow yet, although the weather forecast predicted snow in two occasions. The surrounding mountains have been getting snow since March. May is most likely to see at least a flurry (and if we're lucky, some accumulation, like last year).

Don Mueang Airport:
From Wunderground.comBang Na Agromet:
Mean temp: 28.8 C Mean min / max: 25.2 C / 33.2 C Lowest min / max: 21.5 C / 26.4 C Highest min / max: 28.9 C / 35.6 C Rainfall: 321 mm Bangkok's mini ice age continues with the fifth consecutive month of below average temps. Much cooler and wetter than average - April was actually cooler than March this year (which itself was well below average!). In fact, the average high / low for April was very similar to the long term means for February (to be fair, this needs to be seen in the context of little temperature variation throughout the year). Not that I'm complaining about the lack of oppressive heat, but I was really looking forward to experiencing the legendary brutality of Bangkok's April heat. Instead I got something more comparable to February. However, we did have 11 thunder days, so that was nice. Rainfall stats from the more central Bang Na Agromet. site illustrate the variation in rainfall over the city. DMK had 154 mm while Bang Na had an impressive 321 mm (other central sites are similar to Bang Na). To put that in context, it's slightly less than the mean for September, by far the wettest month of the year. The vast majority of the rain was concentrated in three separate rain events. Bang Na saw 93 mm in the first week and 197 mm in the last week.

About a degree warmer than average, also slightly wetter and sunnier than normal.

Binghamton
Average high: 47.3F (8.5C) Average low: 30.1F (-1.1C) Departure from average: -6.4F (2nd coldest on record)
Snowfall: 14.8 inches Precipitation: 1.99 inches
Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad month. Largest negative anomaly of any month since the notorious February 2015. One of the shittiest months I have ever experienced, let's hope that doesn't happen again

Umeå: Average high: 8.1'C (+0.9) 24h mean: 2.3'C Tx+Tn/2: 2.4'C (∆0.0) Average low: -3.2'C (-0.9) Max: 15.0'C Min: -12.5'C

A pretty decent month. All I'm asking from April really. Above average highs even though the mean was average, and a little sunnier than average, and little rain.Tavelsjö was more above average though. Vindeln-Sunnansjö had warmer highs as well as lows compared to Umeå airport when normally only the lows are warmer due to not being a frost hollow.
