Brr. 🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿 what kinda setup brings cold summer mornings there? That's pretty cold. The area Eugene airport is located is prime for radiational cooling and can get quite a bit colder than Eugene proper, which itself is decent for low summer minimums as well. Portland is quite a bit warmer in the evening during summer. As for set up, it's pretty ridgy but the thicknesses aren't too high so that probably kept warm air away. This case seems to be caused by surface dynamics but I don't know much about it to be honest.

5th straight day of 90F or higher, the past two days weren’t forecasted to reach 90F (supposed to be 87F and 86F) but they did (92F and 90F).
Dew points in the mid to high 70’s, but no thunderstorms except for inland areas. Is this Central Florida?

Had a good bit of t-storm activity in the area yesterday, but I didn't really get anything that impressive. I measured 0.36" of rain.
Good t-storm chances over the next 7 days.

High of 97°F (36.1°C) yesterday, which is the highest temperature recorded at LEX since 2012. The low hasn’t fallen below 71/22 yet this month. What’s more, every day has hit a dew point of at least 75°, including stretches of consecutive hours. Impressively tropical for our area.

I’d rather have this than dry 100s with no storms. It gets ridiculous at a point though, I can't even breathe in dewpoints 25°C or higher, which is why I could never live in Florida or elsewhere on the Gulf coast I experienced a 26.1°C dewpoint in Little Rock AR back in July 2016 and I could drink the air almost literally

Well the heatwave was nowhere near as extreme as the forecasts showed but still impressive for us.
Since June 30th, our highs have been:
93, 95, 95, 90, 96, 95
•The 96 is the highest temp since August 2016.
•The 4 days over 95 (35 C) is the most since 2007
•The 4 days over 95 in a month is the most since July 1988 and the T-6th most all time
•6 straight days over 90 is the longest streak since 1988 and T-5th longest all time
Max temps, dews and heat indexes by day:
June 30: 93, 75, 105 July 1: 95, 75, 100 July 2: 95, 75, 102 July 3: 90, 72, 90 July 4: 96, 73, 103? July 5: 95, 80, 106
Actually, looking through the stats this was a pretty epic heatwave. And Albany and Syracuse and NYC didn’t hit 100 so nothing to be jealous about.
The thing that pisses me off though is the 2nd, 4th and 5th all had highs early in the afternoon and then had storms or clouds or whatever cool it down during the hottest part of the day when the temp should still be rising.
Holy shit, just realized our dew point was fucking 80 (27 C) a little while ago!!! A T-storm apparently dropped 0.48” (12 mm) in half an hour and caused the dews to soar.
I can only find dew point data that goes back to 1948, but this is TIED FOR THE HIGHEST DEW POINT EVER!!
Ok, this heatwave is actually really epic!
Meanwhile in Wyoming I’ve had amazing weather with highs near 70 and lows in the 30s and lots of sunshine. Would prefer higher but for hiking/camping this weather is hard to beat.

Thunderstorms derped their way around us in all directions today. We’ll probably end up getting nothing out of this cold front.
