1 June is here, summer felt like it's been here for a good time already but now it is formally here!
Set for some more amazing sunny days coming up, what an impressive streak it is. Water advisory for not filling up pools and sprinkling on the lawns... Seems like very much of a precaution though, no way we're that down on water in May. If this would continue until August it could be another thing altogether.

I created a summer thread two weeks ago lol! The latest GFS model runs showing another Gulf tropical system in two weeks. The most recent run shows a landfall around Houston, TX.

Forgot to post this Saguenay is the hottest place in Canada right now at 32°C and 6:30 pm, can't happen often. Normally it's either Ontario or western Canada. NYC reached 20°C with a dewpoint of 19°C (66°F, a few degrees less on Long Island), Quebec City 32°C with a dewpoint of 14°C, both at 5 pm the strange pattern giving heat up north and cool here. 500 hPa, no low visible over the Northeast but Quebec has a warm airmass. from tropicaltidbits.com 850 hPa show a cool spot, but clouds are making the difference bigger at the surface definitely not a cut-off low. High pressure is stalling a front over us. Ridge isn't obvious from the surface map from WPC Surface Analysis Archive====================== and the clouds from NOAA Goes

Great first day of June here, 25°C high or something like that and the sun continues to beam down. The lake was absolutely wonderful once again. Hopefully this will keep up for sometime, the weaker the low-pressure influence is in June, the harder it is for "Scotland weather" to recover.

Dew point got up to 72 (22 C) today the highest of the year.
At one point the temp/dp was 87/71, producing a heat index of 93 (34 C). Feels noticeably sticky and muggy, I liked last week’s dry heat better but I’m not gonna complain at all about this.
The low was only 72 (22 C), so it hasn’t fallen below 70 since Wednesday morning.

Looks like June may start off dry, but it may turn wetter here later in the month. Still hot though. Maybe that pattern would produce strong t-storms.

windows all open here
check out the plume of humid air going thru the Connecticut River valley in Massachusetts; that area tend to get more heat & humidity than to the west & east

Yesterday’s low stuck at 71 (22 C). Much cooler today though, high was 70 (21 C) at midnight.
It dropped down to 57 (14 C), the first time below 60 since May 25th. That was a streak of 7 days.
This weekend and early next week looks pretty cool with highs in the low 60s Monday and Tuesday and lows possibly in the 40s. Late next week looks to go back up into the low 80s though.

Forecast high of only 64°F, with the dewpoint dropping tonight and then tomorrow. As soon as I saw the drop, I thought it'd be windy tomorrow; I was right.

High of 86F today with sunny skies and a dp ranging from 65F to 70F after a low of 74F. Not a bad start to summer aside from the fact that there were no storms

like Scottish mountains, the White Mountains have lingering snow. I'd guess the Scottish Highlands have much less snowpack than when I visited?

Temps have underachieved the past few days compared to what had been forecast. The warmest it's been was 96F yesterday. Earlier this week 103F had been forecast for today by Wunderground, lol; actual high today was 95F.
Decent chance of t-storms tomorrow as a front comes from the north; there could even be something late tonight.

^ We had a high of 95 F (35 C) today here too, quite warm w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KHWO.htmlWe also had a brief downpour around 6:45-7 pm, brought along some gusty winds and some lightning strikes, but it was only about 10 min long. Wish it could have lasted longer, but at least it was something.

Some strong storms formed close to my location today, but moved then moved away to the southwest. Severe warnings were issued in SW LA and SE TX from the storm complex that formed. Good t-storm chances returning on Tuesday & Wednesday.
