Just on the Eurostar back to London now, we just got evacuated from Gare du Nord due to a bag being left behind I think? Sitting on the train in the station and heard an explosion, I’m guessing controlled as I have not heard anything else... does this happen often in this station? It seems like a prime target to be honest, it was just a bit scary watching upstairs in the Eurostar area as everyone got evacuated, thought I was gonna see shit go down first hand

Never witnessed any of that, so I take it it’s not that frequent.Yeah must be impressive, I can imagine the scene.

current conditions on Marten Ridge at 3520 feet in the North Cascades, Washington have had very warm lows in the last fews. Last night didn't go below 60°F. Must be some very warm air aloft there; 850 hPa averaging 17°C there. Diurnal range isn't big either. But there's still snow on the ground; leaving fast. I wouldn't trust the one inch that fell, but the snow depth looks legit wcc.sc.egov.usda.gov/nwcc/site?sitenum=999lots of convection on the Cascades today. from a link via 🖕🏿Mörön🖕🏿

Saw my first lightning of 2018 tonight!!! No thunder sadly and it wasn’t even in fucking SHITchsster.
Theres been consistent lighting though from just east of Indianapolis to past the Illinois state line, possible I haven’t heard the thunder from inside my car.
From Rochester all the way to like an hour past Columbus, I was driving through a solid wall of grey with a 2-3 minute shower like every 45 minutes. Never seen it completely overcast for so far.
Stopped at a gas station now, thought my first lightning this year was worth a stop to post.

Tropical wave influence over the past week ended up being a big disappointment. I only measured 0.30" of rain. Heavier rainfall went around a good part of the Alexandria area. Precip over the past week:

So yesterday was quite the remarkably hot day, with both HWO hitting 97 F (36 C) and FXE hitting 96 F (36 C) w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KFXE.htmlw1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KHWO.htmlToday is shaping up to be similar, as it's actually warmer at this time of the day today than it was yesterday. Predicted high for yesterday was 92 F (33 C) and we hit 97 F (36 C), predicted high for today is 93 F (34 C), hopefully we can really get up in temps.

I haven’t experienced 40C+ since 2011....or 2016 if you count the heat index. Too long.
Mostly cloudy today, got up to 25C.
