New normals:
09/01: 82.3/52.9 Mean: 67.6 11/30: 46.8/21.4 Mean: 34.1
Drop: 33.6 (77.4% of annual)
Spring dates with those temps are June 16th and February 18th. So it takes takes 4 extra weeks to warm up that much in spring.

Strangely enough it's the 2nd coldest record low of the entire month, September 28th being number one with a record low of -11.1C. The record is from 1930, and there was a massive temperature drop from the last couple days of August to the first couple days of September that year, seems like a serious cold front came in and plunged the temperatures for a few days before they came soaring back up by the end of that first week.

I'm under the impression that we're a lot more prone to hard frosts during the warmer months than you guys. But even for us this was an anomaly, as most of the daily records for the month are substantially warmer than that (the following days have record lows barely below freezing).

September 1st:
High 79 F Low 56 F Mean 68 F
November 30th:
High 46 F Low 27 F Mean 36 F
So that's a 32 degree drop in the mean temperature between September 1st and November 30th. The warmest daily mean is 73 F and the coldest is 26 F (47 degrees) so the September 1st to November 30th drop represents 68% of the change.

Turku Airport has a 0.2C low for 1 September, and Turku Artukainen 0.9C. 2003 for the Airport, 2008 for Artukainen. On the top side as highest lows there's a 16.6C record for the Airport, and 15.1C record for Artukainen for the 1st.

We have a colder record low on September 1 than you guys, record low here on September 1 is 29 F (-1.7 C) in 1974. (St. Cloud Airport data) For here, averages on September 1 are 75.8 F/51.4 F, which comes out to a mean of 63.6 F. November 30 averages are 31.7 F/14.8 F, which is a mean of 23.2 F. That's a 40.4 F drop, which is exactly 2/3 or 66.67% of the annual amplitude (60.6 F, from 8.9 F to 69.5 F). (Rice, MN)
