Seeing a last-minute goal for a team you're rooting for is one of the best experiences in football - especially at the World Cup

U lot r already out lmao. Yeah and? Your lot are the ones who always think you'll win and always bottle it. Lol. This year England have a strong team who can win. I wouldn't have said that in 2014-2016 under Roy hodgson who was a terrible manager. That team had no chance of winning. This team has a very legitimate chance of winning, though, looking at their strengths and past results reaching the final of Euro 2020. But I don't always think England can win. This time, I believe it is possible, though not inevitable. Surprises can befall any good team, as has been seen at this competition already.

Congratulations to Morocco. Fourth African team ever to qualify for the quarterfinals.
Also this confirms Canada were in the toughest group, lol. Only group where both teams won their respective round of 16 matches to advance to the quarterfinals.

Shame, I wanted to see the last African team go out. Might have briefly shut up all the African Football Experts on social media.

Do you have any examples of this, I'm actually curious lol It's a long-running meme, started when Africans used to come on pages and write long-winded analysis that was usually complete gibberish. Now it's developed into them flooding football pages with a mixture of trash talk, cringy fanboyism, and general deluded arrogance about the abilities of their own players. Kinda like Indians on cricket pages, which @jgtheone can attest to Just follow any EPL page, you'll start to see what I'm talking about lol. It's a shame, because I used to root for African teams, but their obnoxious fans are starting to make it difficult.

I follow some pages on Facebook. Worst I see is people saying "Chelsea is the strongest team because of its African players, they will win the Champions League" I did see something that kind of turned me off Morocco Seems kind of racist. Would be like England winning and then saying "This is for all white Christians". Very disappointing to see these kinds of comments

^^^ Indeed, these sorts of comments are exactly what I'm talking about. It's not a minority posting them, either.

Arab world united! The arab dream is alive and well and one day the arab world will reunite again! As you can see, the Moroccans brought out the Palestinian flag following their win. The people are separate from the treacherous actions of their respective governments. Morocco will prolly lose to Portugal , but if by some miracle they win, go Morocco! Again, the Moroccan people are for Palestine rather than Israel as you and your buddy mets liked to say...
“Palestine is the 33rd country in the World Cup,” said Abdullah Mansouri, a Moroccan fan trying to make himself heard above the horns and drums that accompanied his country’s win. “Palestine is our cause, our struggle in the Arab world, in all the Arab world.”
“To see Palestinians cheering for Morocco and Moroccans cheering for Palestine is one of the most significant Arab popular rejections of normalization with Israel,” the Palestinian journalist and editor Ramzy Baroud told Days of Palestine. “This moment will live in the minds of several generations of Arabs forever.”

The World Cup is supposed to be apolitical as Qatar and FIFA vowed to "focus on the football"...but Qatar and FIFA (which Qatar has bribed) have an explicitly political agenda, based on their selective enforcement of anti-politicism, which supports selective bans on only some political symbols. This is unjust. Bunch of hypocrites.
From the Washington Post: "While authorities have from time to time blocked those sporting LGBTQ rainbows or anti-Iran regime iconography, the Palestinian flag has been ubiquitous at the World Cup’s stadiums, no matter which teams are playing. Banners calling for a “Free Palestine” were raised in the stands of at least one game, while a protester at a match involving Tunisia invaded the pitch waving a Palestinian flag"
Israeli journalists, just reporting on the football, have been harassed in Qatar as well. "Videos that proliferated on social media showed bemused or startled Israeli reporters being berated by passersby"

Maybe that is the problem, they view everything through the lens of race and religion. Which is stupid The match is Morocco vs Spain. Not Arabs vs Caucasians. Or Muslims vs Catholics. If Ronaldo won the world cup and said “This is for all white Christians” he would probably get cancelled

So, England vs. France it is. Looking on various media France are the favourites to win, and most predictions are going with a France win. It will be an interesting match. I won't be too sad if England lose to France because they have a very skillful team.

I'd give England the edge, were it not for Mbappe. He's a monster.

Argentina!
Too bad about Brazil though, losing to the the penalty merchants. Hopefully Argentina smash them in the semis.
