I think a few more goals would be nice, like 3-5 a game combined, a 3-2 game would be a lot of fun. The 0-0 or 1-0 games get a bit boring.
That said I also think more high scoring than that consistently would get boring. For example the chiefs-rams game that was 54-51 a few years ago was an amazing game but part of that was due to how rare it was. In college you get scores like that all the time and it’s pretty boring as there’s no defense and there’s so much scoring, it loses its appeal.
The average NFL game is 20-17 which is roughly equivalent to a 2-2 soccer game, which I think would be close to ideal.

If we consider touchdowns as 1 point and field goals as 0.5 points, this would translate to a typical score of 3 to 2.5. That would be perfect for soccer to have. |

I know that Germany or Brazil might not care about the 3rd place match, but to a country like Croatia or Morocco, getting a medal is huge
3rd medal in the last 6 World Cups for Croatia. That's insane for a newly-born country of less than 4 million people

I hate football unless England are playing so IDC what happens. In an ideal world it would be 0-0 then extra time still 0-0 then an equal penalty shoot out with nobody winning until they all get tired and go home, thereby they all lose.

Best final ever in the shittiest World Cup ever.
After the first week it wasn't even hard to boycott, I just totally ignored the games. I watched three games in total: Qatar - Ecuador, Brazil - Serbia and the final. I have no idea were these toilet games good or bad, were the games high or low quality, what teams stood out and who didn't.
Fuck FIFA for ruining the world cup. Go kill yaself Infantino.

Holy fuck what a moment. This really was a dream world cup final. Absolutely insane finish, with two extra time shockers and the two best players in the tournament combining for five goals. People will surely be talking about this final for generations to come
