HJK - HIFK 1-1 FC Lahti - HJK 3-0 (led to the sacking of former manager Lehkosuo) HJK - Honka Espoo 0-1 (1st win for Honka against HJK in Helsinki since 2010) Jesus christ. Still having a better season than Man United!

Losing against your rivals leaves a bad taste in any case.

Is it a 22 + 10 system? If so, then they definitely have a good chance to come right back and win it. Sweden should have something similar to increase quality. The country is too small to have 16 teams sharing the money.

22 + 5. Top 3 get 3 home matches and 2 away matches. Places 4, 5, 6 and 7 play against each other in the Europe League playoffs (once) and meets the 3rd in the 2-legged final. The relegation round 11th plays a 2-legged relegation playoff with the 2nd division 2nd.
I hate the Europa League playoffs, and hope it would be discarded.

At least it makes sense that the top three get that additional favour of the extra home game, unlike the messed up Scottish system that goes by predicted patterns, resulting in a top three team from the regular season having to play two more away than home games in a year if being unlucky.
Still, I think a 22 + 10-system makes the most sense, but Finnish weather constraints where even the warmest climate is colder than the average Allsvenskan one, would stop any 30-32 game seasons right there?
The Europa League playoffs sound rather useless since the clubs on that level in Finland won't make it anyway. It's basically HJK or bust.

The reason why this new system was implemented was because the old system was 2 rounds + 1 round where the top 6 teams got one extra home match based on the previous season's performance = 33 matches. That is way too much for a season which is 1 April to 31 October. The Europa League playoff was implemented so that if one or two teams are so weak in the relegation round that the 7-10 teams have nothing to play for.
The relegation playoff has been hugely popular and runs in early-mid November, but if the league would run until late November, the relegation playoff would be quite risky due to the winter arriving. Starting the league in March like in the Baltic Countries has neither been seen desirable, because it would give a huge disadvantage to the teams who play on natural grass. Like Inter Turku which might start with 3 away games in a row.

It starts on the wrong sports' field but I guess ambition outweighed the producers' talent!

KuPS Kuopio wins the Finnish Championship! 6th title, first since 1976!
Inter Turku wins silver, Honka Espoo bronze. Ilves Tampere won the Cup.
HJK is 5th. Worst result since 2007.

Last season they said VAR would ruin Liverpool.

Hopefully, but they should never have been in that position. They have the resources to get out of that league but no ambition. They always take the cheap options, never bold enough to hire a proven manager or players with established reputations.
