They finished over 20 points behind Liverpool last season and only won the Mickey Mouse cup. They're further behind than people realise. Unless Liverpool implode, will Messi alone close that gap? Think Man City got a bit unlucky in the league last year. Their defense was decimated by injuries, I suspect they will play much better when they get LaPorte back Vincent Kompany also left. Was monumental in both title wins in '18 and '19. |

Thiago is a great player, tho who would he be replacing in Liverpool’s system? It's a three man midfield that rotates. I think Klopp's preferred three will be Thiago, Keita and Henderson. But plenty willing to stake their claim. |

Yeah, what a farce. While I appreciate the idea of giving new players a chance, you seriously cannot put Niskanen or O'Shaughnessy in the starting XI. Not that they did any worse than the others, but players from the Finnish League should not be in the starting XI on this level. I don't think manager Kanerva was intentionally arrogant, but he likely thought that the new players could do better than they actually did. And when Wales got the goal ahead, Finland had nothing to counter it. Not even a single half-chance.
Very disappointing, but Ireland next, and let's get something from them. Strewth!

Finland were on top for a while but not doing much, then faded completely in the last 25 minutes. We weren't great, just had that little spark in the final third with James and Wilson. Finland have a nice kit and a nice new stadium, unfortunate that the first match there was a loss to some sheep herders  |

Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood traveled for Iceland with the NT, and were supposed to quarantine. Instead they were caught bringing girls to the hotel with them. Very selfish and inconsiderate move on their part
