James Ward-Prowse is now clearly the best free kick taker in the Premier League. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that there's very few free kick specialists around at the moment? Just saw this tier list, nobody can disagree with the top one, because they'd be wrong.  |

I really hope we can qualify. Four out of these last six qualifying games are away from home so it's not nearly a slam dunk yet. Definitely a bright future though. Lots of kids coming through the youth systems now (the advent of the CPL has helped with youth development) and the European leagues are seen as a viable step after becoming established here. Most Canadians are also eligible to play for other counties but the relative success over the past couple years has definitely resulted in a sort of positive feedback loop where more players are now chosing to represent the red and white instead of their ancestral nations. |

Australia beat Vietnam last night unfortunately Saudi Arabia and Japan won as well (who we are competing with for the two qualification places). We're gonna have to beat one of them (preferrably both) to get through

Australia defeated Honduras pretty easily last time, but if they have to play against the 5th place CONMEBOL team it will be complicated |

Australia defeated Honduras pretty easily last time, but if they have to play against the 5th place CONMEBOL team it will be complicated Honduras were fucky at their home ground cos they turned it into a mudpit and obviously bribed the refs. Fortunately the officiating and ground conditions were equal and at a higher standard for the australian leg of that tie. Hopefully we avoid that Conmebol tie..too stressful ahaha |
