Group B, looks hectic. Do we know who the interconfederation playoff will be against? Australia defeated Honduras pretty easily last time, but if they have to play against the 5th place CONMEBOL team it will be complicated Honduras were fucky at their home ground cos they turned it into a mudpit and obviously bribed the refs. Fortunately the officiating and ground conditions were equal and at a higher standard for the australian leg of that tie. Hopefully we avoid that Conmebol tie..too stressful ahaha Yeah Concacaf always has some sketchy shit going on. Canada plays games in Edmonton to literally freeze out the opposition Conmebol is exciting as usual. Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador are in for sure. That leaves 6 teams to fight for 2 spots. Last qualification campaign, the spots came down to the final matchday. This one looks like it could be even more dramatic |

No Davies or Eustaquio and no problem. Jonathan David's second half goal was one for the highlight reel.

Will Ferrell has confirmed he's going to attend a Wrexham game next month, and wants organise a game between us and his team, LA FC. It's hoped that the team can have a summer tour of the US after last season's was cancelled due to Covid.

Huge world cup qualifying clash (Canada vs USA) set for tomorrow in Hamilton, Ontario.
Canada is currently 1st in the table with 19pts, USA in 2nd with 18pts.
Five matches remain in this double round robin format (also called the octagonal). Top three nations out of the eight automatically qualify for the world cup and fourth place goes to an intercontinental playoff.
Edit: also should mention Canada will be missing Davies, and potentially Eustaquio too for the match tomorrow.

Klopp's been watching him for a while, and he was going be his top Summer target, but then but other clubs started to show an interest so now he's maded his move in January. |

He was the best non-Messi/Neymar player in the past Copa America. And the second highest scorer in the Portuguese League. Liverpool also seems like a great system for wingers, so I hope he can be successful |

Cyle Larin with the goal, and with that he's now the all time top scorer for Canada. We're also missing two of our best players (Davies and Eustaquio) so if this result stands or even a draw will be a great result.

IMO, the top three most underrated players for Canada are Johnston (RB/CB), Eustaquio (CM) and Borjan (GK). More attacking players like Davies, David, Larin and Buchanan get most of the media coverage but those three definitely don't get as much credit as they deserve. I was happy to see Eustaquio earn a move to Porto during this transfer window, but Johnston should be playing at a club in one of the top five European leagues at this point too. |

Looks like Australia will have to play the 5th ranked Conmebol team. 5th place is going to be one of Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, or Chile. Colombia might have the best team out of these on paper, but have really underperformed. Chile have a brutal schedule, they need to pull off a miracle against undefeated Brazil in Rio.

Surreal seeing Canada win home games against Mexico and the USA but winning away games in central america under really crappy conditions (crap pitch quality, weather, crowd atmosphere, shitty reffing, fans throwing beer cans onto the pitch, etc) is equally impressive.
