Bingley: Average max: 19.7C (+2.8C) Average min: 9.9C (+1.1C) Mean: 14.8C (+1.9C) Rainfall: 18.4 mm (-76%) Sunshine: ~180 hours (+25%)Not as impressive as May was because the first half of the month was pretty cloudy and uninteresting, but this is still the warmest June on record here to go with the warmest May - and as with May, it was the highs much more above average than the lows. I don't have sun data for individual days but there was hardly a single cloud in the sky for the whole of the last week of the month, which is a real rarity here. Do you actually have official numbers for Bingley's sunshine? 180 seems suspiciously low for June just gone, and there's no way 180 hrs would be 25% above average surely. Buxton gets about that much on average, to begin with. I would imagine Bingley had about 220-230 hours this month. No, the best I can get is to use Leeming's totals and take off 10%, but I think that only really works with a normal westerly windflow though where the cloudy air over the Pennines will often clear up before it reaches Leeming. As you can see here, places to the west of any hills have done really well these past two months, Isle of Man and the west Wales coast in particular have been crazy: www.met.reading.ac.uk/~brugge/PREV.htmlThere is an official station in Bradford which is very similar to Bingley, but I have to wait a few weeks to get their results. Looking at their May though they actually got 255.3, much more than the 220 or so I expected them to come out with based on what Leeming got. www.metoffice.gov.uk/pub/data/weather/uk/climate/stationdata/bradforddata.txtJune was definitely not that special sun-wise up until the last 10 days but you're probably right, if May got 250 then June was probably nearer 220.

Leeming probably had even more cloud than Bingley in this set up, just like Sheffield has been cloudier than Buxton. Sheffield's sunshine data doesn't come out for a few weeks (typical met office) so I won't know exactly but I'm certain it's not been as sunny as Buxton comparing the weather recently. It is pretty much the opposite situation in an easterly than a westerly, yes. Cloudier in the east, sunny in the west.

June 2018 in Saskatoon had above average highs by 2.4C and exactly average lows, although Environment Canada seems to be missing a bit of data for one day, so I'll update that along with the sunshine hours once the SRC stats come in sometime this coming week.
It was a very dry month with only 19.9mm of rain, although it did get spread out over the course of 9 rainy days so it gave the impression of being a bit wetter than it actually was. Currently, we're only about 10mm rainier than 2001 (the driest year on record) was at the halfway point of the year, so this is gearing up to be among the driest years we've had if the pattern doesn't change this summer.
I'll post a weatherbox once I get the sunshine stats in a few days.
Average high: 25.0C (normal: 22.6C) Average low: 9.6C (normal: 9.6C) Precipitation: 19.9mm (normal: 63.6mm)
Highest high: 31.1C (June 21st) Highest low: 16.6C (24th)
Lowest high: 11.9C (1st) Lowest low: 4.3C (3rd)

buxton confirmed mediterranean paradise In Easterly dominated summer months, Buxton, being further west, can have some of the best weather in the country. In this case the locked in weather pattern produced constant clear sunny days in late June, with over 16 hours per day, so the sun totals added up and up. Still, nowhere near as sunny as July 2006, which recorded over 300 hours of sun. On the other hand if it was a locked in cyclonic weather pattern with nothing but low pressure from the west it would be remarkably wet and dull compared to other parts of the country, such as in June 2012 which had 100 hours of sun only. Looking back through my records, seems like Buxton was much sunnier than Bingley (and Sheffield for that matter) in the first third of June in particular. Buxton was actually as warm as Sheffield during that period. I'm assuming you mean "sunniest" when you say best. Interesting though. I know Melbourne can easily get the warmest nights in the country before cold fronts, provided northerlies from the desert are blowing.

June in Malta came in around average, with slightly cooler average max & warmer average min. There were no heat waves or any cool spells. There were two days with rainfall, the first affecting only the southern parts of the Island & the second more northern areas, as a consequence rainfall here came in almost bang on average from one thunderstorm. Sunshine was slightly below average. Stats from my PWS in St. Paul's Bay: Average High: 29.9C (-0.4C) Average Low: 23.0C (+1.0C) Overall Mean: 26.5C (+0.3C) Highest Max: 32.2C (29th) Lowest Min: 21.8C (9th & 25th) Lowest Max: 27.2C (1st) Highest Min: 24.7C (27th) Rainfall: 5.3mm (98%) Days with Rain: 1 Days with Thunder: 1 Sunshine*: 324.0hrs (92%) *from Luqa Min UV: 8.2 Max UV:10.4

Yes, sunny, dry and also maximum temperature anomalies compared to the average. The max temp anomaly was 0.8°C bigger for Buxton than for Sheffield for example.

A very poor June here, so cloudy and cool. Rarely has the difference from Trondheim to the Oslo region been larger.
Oslo 705 sunhrs last two months. Even Bergen has 625 sunhrs last two months...
Eggedal avg high 25.4C this June.
Drammen had mean 18.5C and avg high almost as high as Eggedal.
Tromsø had a horror June - the gloomiest and wettest ever recorded. 58 sunhrs in a month with full polar day?? Never seen anything like that up there.
