Terre Haute station missing data from the 29th and estimated the 30th, so there might be a small of an average error by 0.1°C/F.

Bingley: Average max: 19.7C (+2.8C) Average min: 9.9C (+1.1C) Mean: 14.8C (+1.9C) Rainfall: 18.4 mm (-76%) Sunshine: ~180 hours (+25%) Not as impressive as May was because the first half of the month was pretty cloudy and uninteresting, but this is still the warmest June on record here to go with the warmest May - and as with May, it was the highs much more above average than the lows. I don't have sun data for individual days but there was hardly a single cloud in the sky for the whole of the last week of the month, which is a real rarity here.

Melbourne Airport June summary:Average high: 13.9°C (-0.2°C) Average low: 5.3°C (-1.1°C) Average mean: 9.6°C (-0.7°C) Highest max: 18.7°C (6th) Highest min: 11.7°C (8th) Lowest max: 9.6°C (28th) Lowest min: 1.4°C (19th) Rainfall: 69.2mm (177.4% of avg June rainfall) Precipitation days: 16 Sunshine: 131.2 hours (108.8% of average June sunshine) Highest wind gust: 80km/h from the WSW (15th) Overall, below average, slightly sunnier, and much wetter. Not a bad combination. I have also changed back to 0.2 precip days because I couldn't be fucked finding out which days were dew and which were drizzle. Also, the precipitation totals for each month tend to be corrected so that's why they change. PWS:

23.7/11.3 in Norrköping with 31.2/6.9 extremes.
A lot warmer than usual, even though the dire spell mid-month took the averages down. Actually was surprised, since I would've guessed 22/12. Nyköping is a bit more maritime with lower diurnals than Norrköping anyway, so I might be correct for this place, but I'll never know.

The month in Buxton: Absolutely incredible June for Buxton. Average max was almost 4°C above average, and it was very sunny. Only two days with rain all month, with the driest June on record for sure. In Sheffield a heavy torrential downpour on 2nd ruined the chances of a record dry month and the temperature anomaly was not nearly as impressive, though still a decent month.

Where do you get your sunshine from? Your May and June figures are 25%+ higher than mine!

Where do you get your sunshine from? Your May and June figures are 25%+ higher than mine! The weather station in Buxton has those. They also under read by a few %, so the actual total would be higher than those. I think you must have got unlucky with low cloud in Bingley - the higher sunshine further south seems to have resulted in higher average max temps as well. The temps are taken from an official met office station at 298m ASL. The sunshine anomalies are in line with other western England weather stations, approx. 60% higher than average. As for Sheffield's numbers, I expect they will be lower than Buxton, possibly by quite a bit. More eastern areas get more cloud in these set-ups. The official data for Sheffield won't be available for a long time (on the metoffice website).

Average June in many ways but almost all sunny days were cool and windy. Did not feel like a proper summer month. Apart from daylight it felt like the first half of September.
18.2/7.1 (+0.2/+0.1) 301h sunshine (+5%) Pecipitation recording was broken but according to precipitation maps we were dead on 100% average. Actually a remarkably average June month.

buxton confirmed mediterranean paradise In Easterly dominated summer months, Buxton, being further west, can have some of the best weather in the country. In this case the locked in weather pattern produced constant clear sunny days in late June, with over 16 hours per day, so the sun totals added up and up. Still, nowhere near as sunny as July 2006, which recorded over 300 hours of sun. On the other hand if it was a locked in cyclonic weather pattern with nothing but low pressure from the west it would be remarkably wet and dull compared to other parts of the country, such as in June 2012 which had 100 hours of sun only. Looking back through my records, seems like Buxton was much sunnier than Bingley (and Sheffield for that matter) in the first third of June in particular. Buxton was actually as warm as Sheffield during that period.

Do you actually have official numbers for Bingley's sunshine? 180 seems suspiciously low for June just gone, and there's no way 180 hrs would be 25% above average surely - as June's average would be 145 hours and Buxton's is much higher than that (170 hours). I would imagine Bingley had about 220-230 hours this month, similar to Sheffield.
