Due to the hot summer, Silver Y moths have again migrated to Finland. It eats every oily plant in its way and can destroy whole rapeseed fields.
Silver Y did a lot of damage in the 1920's and 1930's, but then never migrated this far north after the 1950's. Now they have arrived four times in the 2000's.
This is climate change, bros. It is real, we see it over here.
edit: Breaking news, the gubbermunt has allocated funds for farmers whose crops were destroyed by Silver Y.

SMHI's estimates suggest a tropical night with a 20°C low overnight. Certainly felt that way too. Right now some stunning dew points, 27°C and 65 % humidity, something that hardly ever happens here. Can't recall 20°C dew points before...
Tomorrow morning at 8 am there's a strong chance of a 23°C dew point according to the latest forecast.

Except the latest readings at your two closest stations were 26.1 @ 58% ( 17.1'C dp) and 26.8 @ 54% (16.7 DP)... Edit: Alright, the unofficial airport station of Nyköping is indeed reading 27 @ 66%

Fucking hell its pissing it down with rain and there goes the almost 3 month rainless stretch. A bit annoying as I would’ve loved for a record dry summer and it had to happen right at the end of July. Forecast still for good weather though!
Think we’ll miss out on the warmest July ever, currently our average max is at 29C but today and the next couple of days are only 22-25C which will bring it down..

Any idea how much rain fell, and over how long? Have you had nearly three months without any rain? Not sure yet but I imagine a fair amount, it was a heavy downpour. We’ve had trade rainfall since May before this, even then May had under 20mm I think.. both June and July were bone dry up to today

For comparison, Melbourne's all-time highest monthly avg max is 30C. Shame about that penis mcghee cooldown considering there's only 3 days in July left.

It was 24°C at 1 AM last night, disgusting. Today is supposed to be the hottest day and the end is in sight though.

Yeah it would’ve been really great to have broken the record, unfortunately our max high was ‘only’ 35C compared to what Melbourne probably accorded in that month for you! We have had 15 30C days though which is very good for us! Even more annoying is that places in fucking polar 65*N are getting 28C average highs and 20C lows, a fucking joke 😡😡😡😡

Summer rain does tend to come in big blobs, although I guess that's true of other seasons also. How long is the period without rain, for London? It rained on 29 May and then again on 27 July, almost 2 months.

Days that warm at 65N yes, but the warmest places at 65N have 20'C means, not lows.
