Two very good finals on thursday and friday night. Tonight's was great but the highlights haven't come out. Finals can be realllly hit or miss in quality due to pressure and very large crowd numbers but so far all 3 games have been great.

Four teams are left to fight it out. This weekend two will be eliminated and on the 24th of October the grand final will decide the Premiers of 2020!
Preliminary Final 1: Port Adelaide vs Richmond at Adelaide Oval Preliminary Final 2: Brisbane vs Geelong at The Gabba (Brisbane Oval)
Each team has different reasons for why they should reach the Grand Final
Reasons why each team deserves to win:
Geelong: been a powerhouse since 2007 but have only won 07, 09 and 11. They have been regular preliminary finals contestants since 2011 but have never been able to reach the grand final since, being beaten in the 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2019 grand finals. They have some all-time greats that haven't won a grand final (Dangerfield) and also some players who haven't won since 2011.
Richmond: they have won 2017, 2019 and been incredibly good in 2018; if they win 2020 then Richmond are truly a dynasty-tier side. With an excellent all-rounded team who don't rely on one player and incredibly good finals experience means they have a very good chance at becoming an all-time great side.
Brisbane: after being a laughing stock for nearly a decade, Brisbane shot up the ladder in 2019 under the guidance of Chris Fagan, a new coach with a young team lead by a couple of club stalwarts and players that were traded in to play coach/defensive roles (two notable players were Luke Hodge and Grant Birchall, both have lead Brisbane's backline and both won 4 premierships with Hawthorn).
Port Adelaide: after an excellent 2013 and 2014 seasons with very new coach Ken Hinkley, Port Adelaide became a club of controversy and extreme inconsistency that lead to a long stint of middling football, finishes of 9th, 10th, 7th, 10th and 10th since 2015, they then finished 1st in 2020 and suprised everyone by staying consistently good. Also theyve got some older players who've been very good for such a long time (westhoff, boak, gray) who deserve to be in a grand final.

A 2000% increase in articles regarding Collingwood players chasing other clubs since our "performance" last Saturday. Yeah, we played like shit, but why are they trying to make it look like half the club is leaving?

A 2000% increase in articles regarding Collingwood players chasing other clubs since our "performance" last Saturday. Yeah, we played like shit, but why are they trying to make it look like half the club is leaving? This aged nicely lol Yeah lol. I mean some of your club definitely deserved it. Couple of comments on my ladder prediction. 1 - GWS will bounce back with an easier fixture, better playstyle (was atrocious in 2020) and with a very good team that simply underperformed. 2- Hawthorn will be similar to Adelaide 2020. Lose a bunch of games in the first half of the season and rapidly switch to a full rebuild about halfway through the season. 3- Dogs get a lot of easy wins against low opposition that boosts their percentage and everyone is hyped for them; only for them to be kicked out of finals by Fremantle. 4- Saints will have a slight backpedalling year, it's normal for a team on the rise to have it as the fixture gets more difficult the higher you finish and we've been destroyed by injuries. 5- West Coast's last year in the finals for a while. 6- Richmond will fucking destroy everyone again. This is a pretty safe bet. 7- Carlton won't improve at all and critics will start to come from everywhere. 8- Melbourne will miss out on the finals by percentage and there'll be memes/jokes about it everywhere.

50% capacity at AFL matches this year. We can still see crowds of 50k at the MCG and 30k at Marvel.

Cant complain with the start of the season... Tigers doing the job over Carlton, Collingwood failing against the Dogs, Freo proving they cant win in Victoria V Melbourne, and I hate both Geelong and the Crows, but love watching Geelong get beaten.... ( but it aint over yet at three quarter time, 19 points in it..... )
