Two wins in a row! What a riot!
Against the top team as well. Amazing feeling. Thanks Bucks for your service to the club.

The fucking state of the Saint Kilda Football Club. Lead 36-0 halfway through the 2nd quarter and lost 60-66. Me contemplating why I support them.

Shaun Burgoyne will be playing his 400th game this week. He'll be the 5th player to do so in VFL/AFL history.

Such a durable player, doubt he'll get a contract extension. He plays a low-statistic role as a lockdown defender, still plays his ass off but he is getting old as hell. He wasn't like boomer harvey who was still pretty good in his last season.

I agree though, a classy player who always gets the job done.

Yeah that's fair by Burgoyne.
I was interested so here are Brent Harvey's stats for the 2016 season.
Disposals: 21.56 per game Goals.Behinds: 36.24 Tackles: 2.4 per game Marks: 4.3 per game Inside 50s: 3.82 per game
A very solid season for someone playing half forward

It was a sad win...but a win none the less.
Noodleman wins the Noodleman-JG cup for 2021. The fact we were 68-25 up at 3QTR time and only won 70-61 really shows our weakness in keeping a strong percentage and bruise-out games. Props to Collingwood for giving it a red hot crack when a lot of other shit teams wouldn't try in the 4th.
Saints are somehow only 2 points (equivalent to a draw) outside the Top 8, it's a weird season. With a consolidated top 5 teams (Dogs, Melb, Bris, Cats, Pear), a fairly comfortable 6th placed Sydney...then a mess of average to mediocre teams all within striking distance of 7th and 8th (Eagles, Giants, Tiges, Freo, Saints, Essendon)....I don't count Carlton as having a chance despite them being the same points as Essendon.
Also I'm surprised there hasn't been more critism on Steve Hocking and the recent rules changes now that he has left the position. He basically changed the ENTIRE reason of why rule changes were brought in (from a human compassion stand point to a money making standpoint). And the strongest problem with this...scoring actually decreased in his reign and free kicks have become more confusing because every new rule brought has another "grey zone" on interpretation. Hopefully the AFL goes back on some of these rules changes and allows the game to progress in a natural way - who cares if football is defensive these days - in results in less blow outs, closer games and more epic moments.
Originally rules were made to reduce injury etc.
During Hocking's reign the rule changes were brought in for higher scoring so there would be more ad breaks (if there are more goals, then there are more goals in ad breaks).
My power rankings for top 5:
1) Western Bulldogs 2) Brisbane Lions 3) Geelong Cats 4) Port Adelaide Power 5) Melbourne Demons

Lol did they really bring in those rules hoping to get more ad breaks? Jesus christ, that's ridiculous. I remember some high scoring games in the past would have an ad break every 2-3 goals or so, then they'd have 2 in a row after one goal. Very inconsistent. At least you can get lots of play in between goals most of the time with AFL.

Going to Saints vs Eagles this weekend. Gonna be a cold, cloudy Saturday arvo...hopefully we come off with the win!
Quite nervous about the game as Rowan Marshall is not allowed to play as he's a secondary covid contact to a case in Melbourne.

Almost forgot to make a post here.
Terrible season, with very few positives. Everything seemed to unravel this year for Collingwood, and we finish the season without a president and without a permanent coach. Shit hitting the fan is an understatement. The only positive is that we have a lot of young guns, and with the right coach we should be able to make a decent run at it. At least higher than 17th, I'd think!
We should also get Nick Daicos, who looks to be an absolute gun.

The fucking state of Carlton.
What the fuck is going on there? Fucking debacle. At least 11 of their best 22 players are pissed off that Teague was sacked, a coach who barely had an opportunity to actually have any time due to 2 covid comprimised seasons.
