Nice pics Babu. Budapest really is in the top tier of architecture and eating/drinking culture. Did you go on the Parliament House tour?

And to be honest, the parliament building wasn't what I was most interested in in Budapest. The only thing we payed for except food was we went to the movies, but it was some weird foreign films artsy place, so we saw the Norwegian film UtΓΈya with Hungarian subtitles lol

Finally starting to see some colors here. This year's insane warmth will return next week and take us back to September, slowing things even more.

Went for a hike in Bymarka, the city forest today. Nice colors up there now.

Almost 500 m asl, near the highest point
View from 565 m asl, Storheia. This is the highest point in Trondheim municipality, but that will change in the near future
View towards Trondheim city. Snow line on the border mts.
Slight icing on the very small water ponds on the higher ground bogs. Shadow of me. This is ca 400 asl.
Total hike ca 9 km.

Some pictures from Southern Wisconsin. Fall color is here, but not near peak color yet. The heavy rain lately will dull the colors a bit as some leaves are dropping before they hit peak color.
Current fall color report
On September 22nd there were still a few dandelions around. Here's one. Temperature was about 17C. The next few are from September 29th in a park. Weather was 12C, partly cloudy then overcast. Birch trees for Babu , since you've been missing them Then some from yesterday the 6th. 13C, light rain. The trail is narrow and rocky, but not too narrow to walk easily. Decent variety and hills for a short trail only about 1 mile/1.5km long.
There's a single zipline just off the trail, must be someone's personal zipline.

And now, or final destination if you disregard Stockholm: KrakΓ³w. The building where we stayed, as well as most other buildings in the area, looked nice, but right across the street there's what looks like a ruin from WW2 lol. Extremely beautiful garden though if you ask me, but I don't think it's been tended to in the last decades or so. Pretty beautiful core, but outside of the core it looked surprisingly Scandinavian. Didn't take pictures of that because no one wants to see that. We were walking towards the old town center when we stumbled upon a random Barbican. On the other side of a grove or park or whatever you'd call it, we found the old city walls. Said city walls. Inside the walls, it didn't look quite as I expected of an old town. Very pretty regardless. Market square after some rain showers. A bunch of random buildings there. I've already mentioned the pigeons in the non-weather photo thread but it was insane. A group of Swedes came and one of them wanted to become the pigeon lord too. He got a bit overwhelmed though which was funny to watch. Every hour a guy with a trumpet started blasting a melancholic fanfare out of this church tower. Wandered through another park. This man spreader needs to share some space. The other guy is fine though. Found this little garden. I like the hornbeam. Cool texture. The ones we have in UmeΓ₯ aren't nearly that big and probably never will. And no, those aren't birches. They're beeches. Ours will probably never be as big as those either... After some exploring we stumbled upon this large castle... made of brick... View from the castle. Some fall colors! Lots of fall colors surrounding the castle hill. Drought or overheating seemed to be the problem here too. The chestnuts were brown, whereas in UmeΓ₯ where it's been much cooler this summer they're mostly green still. I like this church design. And it looked like early November right in this spot lol. Fall colors by some jewish cemetery. And please, let's all acknowledge this absolute madlad who biked on a 40cm wide railing right by the river. Then we went to Auschwitz. We went to Birkenau first Pretty heavy atmosphere, but the weather was very melancholically beautiful. Fitted somehow. I guess you'd imagine overcast conditions more fitting but idk. Ugh, looking back on these photos makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. At one end there were a bunch of trees. Mostly oaks. I've never seen so many acorns in my life. At certain parts you couldn't see any ground for the bed of acorns stacked on top of eachother. After Birkenau we visited Auschwitz I and the museum there. I feel horrible because despite the horrors committed here, and despite not exactly being in the jolliest mood while being there, I couldn't help thinking the place looked beautiful in a way. This painting gave me feels
