First official frost in Plum, PA this morning, about 10 days late but I'm happy it's finally here. Dropped to 34F IMBY. High of 51F today, 38F tonight, and only 47F tomorrow, and a hard freeze of 29F possible tomorrow night.

It definitely looks fake to me. I can assure it's neither killington or Mansfield (stowe) as said in the tweet (I've been to both quite a few times) To me it looks a bit like Giant Mountain or Mount Dix near whiteface in the Adirondacks if it is real

Dipped to 35 (2.7 C) this morning, the coldest of the season. First freeze possible tonight or tomorrow.
Today was a classic chilly, windy and partly sunny fall day with a high of just 53 (12 C).
Parts of the central plains got a huge early season just this weekend. Boulder got 8.9” (23 cm) of snow, Denver had a high of just 27 (-3 C) on Sunday and Cheyenne only reached 24 (-4 C) on Sunday and got 4.8” (12 cm) of snow.
Perhaps most impressively, Scottsbluff had a low of 8 (-13 C) Monday and picked up 5.8” (15 cm).

New snow warning being issued this year in the US. My local Nation weather service was the first to use it last March, definetly an important warning to those that live near the great lakes weather.com/storms/winter/ne...squall-warningI liken in to a severe thunderstorm warning/flash flood warning in the summer versus a flood warning (all about the rate/wind versus storm total).

There's no source for that photo for exact location or time to check, so I agree with your skepticism.

First snow possible tonight!!! Even supposed to accumulate up to 1.5” (3-4 cm). Earliest snowfall on record is October 12, 2006 so snow this early is very rare. Would be weird to see snow here when 20-25% of trees are still fully green and probably 75-80% still have a decent amount of green.

I still remember the Columbus Day flurries in October 2000 while I was still living there 😑🤭

great fall colors last week in the White Mountains
looks like this year's foliage might be a bust in southern New England. humidity and warm nights is bad for leaves, and the front will blow off a lot of leaves
