Fargo—5/10. Meh. The people who say this is one of the all time greats must be on crack. It was boring, the plot was bland and the characters were bland and there were scenes I was sitting there thinking “why the fuck am I watching this?”. No clue what people think is so great about it, it was an average, forgettable movie to me. Dude wtf. That movie is a 10/10

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. 6/10. Meh movie, it was way too long and the first half was slow and dull but the 2nd half made it worth watching. I think it's a bit overrated in general, most of the film is nothing special, although the soundtrack is great and some of the scenes are rightly iconic, that Mexican standoff at the end has to be one of the best produced pieces of cinema I've seen. Fun fact, filmed entirely in Spain, a lot of non-weather enthusiasts are surprised that Spain has actual desert landscapes that look like the American west.

I really liked the way the plot melded the believable with the sureeal and kinda escalated situations so smoothly it was hard to tell when situations became absurd. I also liked the contrast between the classic courteous and mild mannered midwestern characters and the drastic violent plot of the movie. I could go on and on about how great Fargo is but this is a good start.

I also liked the contrast between the classic courteous and mild mannered midwestern characters and the drastic violent plot of the movie. I didn’t really notice anything surreal, it all felt believable or at least no less so than most movies. I thought it was a creative idea to have him arrange his own wife’s capture but then they didn’t really do anything with that and it became a typical kidnapping movie. There was also a lack of tension which made it dull and hard for me to care. I can see your third point about the characters but they were all pretty thin and there wasn’t a lot of characterization so I didn’t really care about anyone.

Agree.
The badlands of Spain were very popular for Wild West movies back in the day. Especially for Italian so-called 'Spaghetti Westerns'.

Amelie - 8/10
Finally got a chance to watch this French masterpiece. Really loved the music and the colorful/bright settings. Reminds me a bit of Wes Anderson movies. The actress was very charismatic as well, and it’s nice to see a movie revolving around such a quirky and zany main character. The only downside is that at some points the movie was too slow paced and dragged on

Watched some Korean movie called "Virgin Stripped Bare by Her Bachelors". Movie is about a girl who loses her virginity to some creepy older guys. Shot entirely in black and white. Honestly one of the worst movies I ever watched. 0/10 Most young actresses can probably relate to the plot. Yeah wouldn’t be surprised if the director wrote the plot based off real-life experience. One of the creepy older characters in the movie was a film director. Messed up thing is that the director later had an affair with a younger actress

Bad Boys—7/10. Fun action movie, characters were funny too.
Bad Boys 2—6/10. Meh. Some good action scenes but not as funny, too long and several interminable car chases

Logan - 8/10
Normally I hate superhero movies, especially the X-men shit. But this movie was actually very good, especially the second half. Happy that they finally used a Hispanic actress for a Spanish-speaking role. It was very gritty and sad for a superhero movie, and made you actually care for the characters. There were some deaths in the middle that were pretty sad. Overall one of the better superhero movies out there. Behind The Dark Knight, and the Guardians of the Galaxy at the moment

Fracture - 8/10
Far-fetched plot, but the acting made it really enjoyable. The villain's role seems tailored for Anthony Hopkins. And it probably was.

Stagecoach (1939). The film influenced so many Western movies that it doesn't seem very original anymore. Though I still enjoyed it.

The Death of Stalin - 7/10 Funny and creative, but a bit hard to keep all the characters straight sometimes.

Vertigo—7.5/10. Interesting movie, the story was cool and a good ending but the second half dragged on a bit.

Yes. No masterpiece but it highlights some interesting aspects about power and I liked the absurdity. I usually hate German movies, this one certainly is above average.

Red River (1948): excellent shooting, atmosphere and acting. I liked the outdoor set, only the end was subpar.

Only watched two German movies. Run Lola Run and The Lives of Others. The latter was better
