Pond Inlet has already reached temperatures a Scandinavian winter could be proud of in recent years.

Staggering return of warmth forecast for Yakutsk! Surely too good to last?

Kilpisjärvi might see Finland's first snow of the season: Odd that they (the village) have had only one freeze so far, on 2 September. This year they saw 8 days above 20C. Take that, Torshavn! Hah, even Reykjavik had only two!

In Barrow, AK it is only 0C. September is a winter month in Barrow. In Rochester September is a summer month. Barrow is the coldest place in America. It is colder than Fairbanks.

This town with a population of 301 Cambiums is still going strong. I guess that's what you get when you build a settlement at 1060m asl in the middle of Tasmania.

Grise Fiord is starting to look rather autumn-like I tried getting a forecast from Eureka, Nunavut but it says "forecast unavailable at this location" *rolls eyes* currently -12 C (10 F) there right now though. TWC has a forecast for Eureka but I don't trust that.

Wrangel Island off the north coast of Far Eastern Russia: This place only averages 73 sun hours in September and 50 in October, yet an impressive enough 195 in March and 267 in April. This polar hole still gets more sun than I get over the course of the year!

Just for shits and giggles, this is the 15-day forecast from TWC for Eureka. I'm not sure I believe it but it's interesting nonetheless. Something I find quite comical is how this thread was supposed to start off as a joke, and it ended up being a legit thread with very interesting posts lol. Btw, temps are in F.

Resolute is also a place to keep an eye on, it's the coldest inhabited place in the northern hemisphere. Doesn't disappoint, not a single above freezing temperature to be seen.

Seems to me the party in Yakutsk is about the be over A little -3C frost kicking in on Sunday. It's a brief rebound in Verkhoyansk, undoubtedly affected by milder southerlies from Yakutsk, and therefore the weekend looks unseasonably warm there.

Who wants slurpees? I think they get their produce from here. Also that 14°C, bit of a heatwave Re lommaren; they would be insane given the southerly location, elevation and 300 hours of sun in January!

Impressive highs right now in Churchill, Manitoba at my exact 58.45N latitude on the Hudson Bay coastline... the polar bears won't be happy lol;) Also still quite moderate temps in Yellowknife. Must've been lots of warm air hovering around those places lately.
