Sanirajak, NU (Hall Beach) has been around -40 with 20kph/12mph wind for several days now. The wind chill has been -54C or below since 3pm on the 1st and the forecast is for similarly cold conditions until the 8th. The 3rd and 4th ranged from -41 to -44C air temp and -57 to -61 wind chill. Extreme cold and extreme consistency.
Current weather at noon on the 5th. Temperature and wind are increasing. -37C, haze. Wind WNW 39kph. Wind chill -57C. Visibility 0.6km
7 day forecast has a brief warm-up on the 8th, then back close to -40 again.

I've been checking the forecast in Sanirajak every few days, and it's been in an extreme cold warning every time I checked. Today's high and low was -42/-46C. It finally is warming up at the end of the forecast, relatively speaking. -31 is still very cold.  |

It finally is warming up at the end of the forecast, relatively speaking. -31 is still very cold. I logically know that nowhere in North America has averages that cold, but somehow if I see a cold-sounding place name I've never heard of before, any level of extreme cold there doesn't seem unusual to me. |

A week later and still under an extreme cold warning. But there is finally some milder weather in the forecast. The warmest so far this month is -30.8C (-23F) on the 1st.  |

It may be after the summer solstice, but temps are still near freezing in Grise Fiord (76N). The northenmost place with an official forecast in Canada.
They have the coldest forecast currently, but sometimes it's worse further east in somewhere like Clyde River or Qikiqtarjuaq. The second place averaged just 4.8/0.1C last July, a 2.5C mean. It was also wet with 65mm of precip. [ link]  |
