I finally finished Vikings. God that dragged on for way too long, but I liked the ending. I abandoned that halfway through Season 4, for obvious spoiler-related reasons.

The Beatles: Get Back
One of the best fly on the wall docuseries I've seen. It's fascinating to see Paul McCartney write a #1 hit in less than 10 minutes. They're just generally entertaining to watch, if they hadn't been musicians they easily could have made it as comedians instead.
Only problem with Peter Jackson running the project is that the running time is enormous. Part 1 alone was over two and a half hours long, and that's just one of three episodes. It's good for us nerds who want to see all that stuff, but it would be a tall order for a casual viewer to sit through it.

Took me about a year, but I've finally maded it through the original, run of the X-Files. The last 3 seasons were noticeably weaker than the first 6, but still mostly good TV. If I were to watch it again I'd probably only follow the main storyline episodes for the first 4/5 seasons, before it starts to become increasingly incoherent.

just finished an alternative history series ( UK ) called 'Noughts and Crosses', where the UK and north western Europe were colonised by a West African Empire 700 years ago. The majority native population are reduced to being segregated, subjected to Apartheid, police brutalitity and are conducting a freedom fighter terrorism campaign against the ruling class. The Celtic/Britons are all depicted sorta like Irish Travellers/Tinkers of the real world. The show of 6 episodes held my interest.
And a new Outback Aussie Vampire ( would you believe ? ) series called 'Firebite'. Watched the first episode, thinking, "this is gunna be shit...", but actually I found it quite entertaing, a dark violent comedy almost. The premise is that in 1788, the First Fleet colonisers brought out 11 vials of infected Vampire blood to help eradicate the Indigenous population ( in real life they brought the smallpox infection with them for the same purpose ). 230 years later there is only one of the original Vampire Kings left and he has relocated to the Opal Fields of Coober Pedy, and set up an Empire in the thousands of abandoned mineshafts in the region. And where once there were many 'Bloodhunter' Indigenous van Helsing like characters fighting the Vampire scourge, now its a lost Dark Art and there is only one left....and blackfella blood is like Crack for the infected vampires, so they actively search out the local blackfella population for a 'hit'...... Any way it is sorta shit, but actually entertaing shit....

I've started Ozark recently, but honestly - and maybe this forum is the one place where people will understand this, I'm not sure - I keep getting "pulled out of it" by how obvious it is that they're not actually in Missouri. The landscape and vegetation is completely un-Missourian (as is Ruth's bizarre accent). The worst is the long zoom-out as they stand on a cliff at the end of the first episode - the whole area visible couldn't be more Georgia if it tried.
(Great choice of music for the ending of that episode, though).

One of my favorite shows.

Missouri is all limestone. Georgia is not.

I thought the X-files was very overrated. Watched the first 3.5 seasons and the lack of character growth was too much for me. Got very stale having a plot so unfocused on the characters where their life situation was largely unchanged from the start. Also thought it got repetitive and the plot was very stagnant.

Yeah, the main plot promised a lot, but there was no payoff in the end. 3.5 seasons was when it was still somewhat decent, the story and overall writing in later seasons becomes unbelievably terrible for such a big name franchise. The standalone episodes turned out to be the best thing about it. You could usually tell how good the episode was going to be by who the writer was in the opening credits. Someone like Vince Gilligan, for example, who later went on to make a much better show, Breaking Bad.

Watched the latest season of Shetland, would highly recommend. Very intriguing murder mystery and a beautiful setting.
Watched the first episode of the Witcher the other day. Iโll keep watching.
On the other hand, I will not keep watching Yellowstone. Watched the first 45 minutes of the pilot episode and turned it off. Every single character was an asshole and the show took itself too seriously. It would be fine for a 2 hour movie but I canโt watch a long running TV show without a single likeable character.

I think 'Yellowstone' is a great show.... deep into season 4 atm. There is a prequel series playing atm called '1883'. Pretty good as well if you like the Western genera. The narrator/ lead actress Isabel May is a bone fide hottie !

The Mandalorian - Really good so far. Just finished the 2nd series, even better than the first. It's a shame the people in charge of this series hadn't been in charge of the recent crap film trilogy, this series stays far more faithful to what Star Wars is supposed to be.

No, it's nothing at all like Finland's football team.
