Uhm, Nidaros , Lommaren : the stereotypical climates for your countries are Kautokeino and Kiruna.
Ask any foreigner and their perception of Norway's and Sweden's climate and the reply will be "-50C 11 months a year with pitch black night and one month of 24h sun and 10C".
You might well be correct! I might have been too generous regarding the knowledge of the outside world. Kautokeino or Røros might fit better for North Americans perception of Norway’s climate incl the south, while Lillehammer might fit better for European stereotypes of Norway.

Australia Stereotypical: Anywhere inland really, especially close to the centre of the continent. Hot, dry and sunny Prototypical: Coastal NSW, warm summers and great beaches, stretching up to QLD as well Anti-typical: Pretty much anywhere cold, whether the Snowy Mountains or Tasmania. I might even include Melbourne here

Rather bewildered at how many of you fellows are suggesting that coastal regions of Australia comprise the nation's prototypical climates; contrarywise, it is the inland, "stereotypical" region that is undoubtedly prototypical.
Just take a quick glance of Australia itself, and the country of which it comprises—much of the nation comprises inland regional, as opposed to its counterpart.

Yeah, but the people mostly live by the sea, so for the typical Australian, a relatively coastal climate is what's normal.

Yeah, but the people mostly live by the sea, so for the typical Australian, a relatively coastal climate is what's normal. The thread states that the prevalence of climates shall comprise chiefly—if not, entirely—geographical factors. This means that population and likewise its distribution matters very little, if anything at all.

In that case, stereotypical and prototypical are the same.

I would view both as valid options! Sorry for the confusion! If most people in Aus live on the coast, then one prototypical climate could indeed be a representative coastal climate.

I'll do Minnesota:
Stereotypical: International Falls & Embarrass! Prototypical: St Cloud- a bit colder than MSP but milder than northern MN nonstereotypical (not so much, since MN isn't so diverse climate wise): Winona for somewhat milder winters (still cold) compared to the rest of the state, Grand Marais for surprisingly low snowfall totals and marine moderation, SW MN for heatwaves
Here's Rhode Island: its a smaller state, so idk if people have formed opinions of its climates... but if so, might be milder than most of New England?
Stereotypical: Newport? No official climate data, but milder than most of the state Prototypical: Cranston or Warwick? just south of Providence, probably antistereotypical: Woonsocket and Burrillville for harsher (Mass-level) winters, Block island for significantly less snow (only 20")

The stereotypical German climate would be cold and snowy in winter (but no extreme cold) & mild and cloudy rest of the year - except for two weeks of nice weather during Oktoberfest.

I pretty much agree with all this, though I think Fargo might have too cold/long winters and not hot enough summers to be stereotypical USA. I would say something more south, like Des Moines for example would be stereotypical USA. Other than that, you're spot on. Yes, I wasn't sure what to pick, since the stereotype is that the US has snowy weather at Christmas and hot summers. In movies, NYC always has snow at Christmas. Even cities further south that don't see much snow still have snow in movies. Summer is always good beach weather, or there is just no mention of weather at all. Des Moines is better for summer but it still gets consistent snow in winter.

Oregon:
Stereotypical: Astoria Anti-stereotypical: Alvord Desert Prototypical: So many climate areas that it's hard to choose... Maybe Eugene? Seems to have a little bit of everything from Oregon, including wide summer diurnals. Anti-prototypical: Government Camp
California: Stereotypical: San Diego Anti-stereotypical: Alturas (winter nights are as cold as the lower Midwest!) Prototypical: Sacramento (again, hard to choose because of climactic diversity) Anti-prototypical: Bodie or Honeydew

Not in popular opinion, but this is the prototypical Finnish climate based on where the population is located.
