If only that January precipitation fell with February's temps instead... If it did Vancouver would be even more like Grytviken. I'm still amazed 8.5C was the highest temp in February (which occurred on the 1st). Anyway, for how significantly colder the numbers were compared to January, it didn't feel that cold to me. Just wish -3C/8.8C were the average temps with 140mm of precipitation.

Yessss, colder than January! Though, just barely. It's like it was the same month all over again! This continues the trend since October of cold and wet. Some in the area are beginning to become concerned that this year could have summer flooding approaching the level of 1993. Highest: 64F (3rd)* *Kansas City has not reached 65F since October 30. On average, this period (Nov-Feb) reaches 65F nine times. No other winter has ever had zero. Lowest: 4F (8th) Lowest high: 17F (15th) Highest low: 53F (3rd)* *One of only two lows above freezing - the other was 34F on the 2nd.' Ice days: 13 (plus 7 "almost ice days" - days where some location in the KC region probably stayed below freezing even if the official station didn't) Deviations: High: 35.4F ( -7.9F) Mean: 27.6F ( -5.9F) Low: 19.8F ( -4.0F) Precipitation: 2.15" ( +0.69 / 147%) Snow: 8.7" ( +3.3" / 161%)

Failbruary Crummary of 2019:
Failbruary this month was 6.7F (3.7C) below average. It was also 8.3F (4.6C) colder than January 2019 with 20.2" of snow. It was the 2nd snowiest February ever recorded, the 7th snowiest month ever recorded and the 5th coldest February ever recorded. Only 2 days were above average and 1 day was exactly average. The rest were below average.
The warmest temperature of 50F (10C) was recorded on February 1. The coldest temperatures of 20F (-7C) were recorded on February 5 and 6. The warmest low was 44F (7C) on February 1. The coldest high was 32F (0C) on February 4. February 4 was the first daily high temperature at or below freezing for nearly five years.
So basically, this Failbruary was a Failbruary that will never be forgotten. Nearly every day was below average and there was a huge snowstorm that shut down the city for a week. Cold airmasses followed after the snowstorm and led to a predominately cold failure of a month.
P.S. It does not surprise me that Botev1912 fails to mention this month here as badly as this month fails to show any significant mild/warm weather or signs of spring.

Quite significantly warmer than here. You guys got lucky with the tracks of the lows which gave more snow than what we received.

Quite significantly warmer than here. You guys got lucky with the tracks of the lows which gave more snow than what we received. Note that snow amount is highly dependent on the precise location. The WFO Seattle station in Magnuson Park had only 11.4" of snow which was slightly less than what you got.

Strange how some years snowfall is more evenly spread than others.

A somewhat disappointing month. Warmer than normal (lows more above normal than the highs). Only one day with a freezing low... Seemed fairly damp and cloudy though total rainfall was below normal; had more precip days than typical. Not really any noteworthy storms. Did have a few ice pellets. Lowest max: 43F Highest min: 68F Highest dewpoint: 70F Average dewpoint: 49F Lowest dewpoint: 22F Days with thunder: 4

A rather "blah" month. Above average and lots of periods of boring, bland weather. Got a good snowfall on the 20th (I measured 6" (15.2 cm) at my place). Note the 7 F (-14 C) low and 72 F (22 C) high within three days of each other lol.

Some monthly summaries from the US, places that were very wet snowy or cold. Minneapolis had their snowiest February ever with 39"/99cm, third snowiest month ever, and a cold month overall. Rochester, Minnesota also had their snowiest month, similar to Minneapolis but their snow depth was higher. 2nd snowiest month on record for them. Bottineau, North Dakota was the coldest place I found with good data. Average monthly temperature -9F/-23C, the coldest month for them since 1982. Opheim MT and Northgate ND were also -9F but some days were missing. Marquette, Michigan had incredible snowfall this month of 89.9", third highest monthly total ever. Three other stations recorded over 90". (Not February) Watertown, New York saw 88" of snow in January but the monthly data is suspicious. 88" is possible in a month but the precipitation and snow depth are too low. Very wet for Nashville and surrounding areas with places seeing 15 inches of rain in February. Nashville had 13.47"/342mm, wettest February and top 10 wettest month on record.

I just did a weather box for New Orleans. Quite a bit warmer than Alexandria, the Feb lows in particular. New Orleans hasn't even been below 36F this winter. No lows below 45F in February lol. (normal low for Feb in NO is 48F)
