May is off to a comically bad start here. May 1st had a mean temperature below freezing and a low temperature of -10.8C (by comparison, the record low for April was -9.6C ) and this evening it's 3C, heavily overcast, and windy. This is tied with May 2002 as the worst start to May I can ever remember, though at least in 2002 it went up into the double digits by the second week and hit the upper 20s by the middle of the month. This time around, our long-term forecasts show us struggling to get past average April temperatures for the next two weeks

From dust you came and to dust you shall return. Örebro: Östersund that managed to snatch a summer definition 😂😂😂 The last high is of course before 10am

From Rovaniemi to Jyväskylä today had the coldest May high in history. Oulu Oulunsalo had an ice day, Kuopio and Jyväskylä barely got above freezing. 18 stations at least recorded their lowest May max high on record.
Turku had a high of 3.8C, which was the lowest May max temp recorded since 1981, when 3.4C was recorded and that is the all-time record low high. Normal high this week is 13.3C.
As south as Kotka got 3 cm of snow during the night, some places in Kainuu got up to 15 cm.

Umeå didn't break any records. Today's high of 2.2'C was the coldest since 1999-05-08 (1.6'C), since 61 the coldest high has been 0.8'C on 1981-05-02. It was the second coldest noon temperature though at -0.1'C at 12.00, only surpassed by 1981-05-03 at -0.5'C. It's been lightly snowing almost all day, but nothing stuck and it was never enough to wet the pavement except in the evening where the ground was a little darker than usual but not wet.

Lots of snow and sleet obs in northern France this morning, and accumulating snow in Belgium. I do not recall seeing sleet in May in Paree, especially around noon.

The metro site officially hit the big 40 on Thursday, equaling its record high: Wednesday and Friday also came very close. Today may have broken 40 C too but I think it fell just shy as it started clouding over around noon, preventing the temp from rising further (from 1 pm to 4 pm there was a 4 C drop in temp):

Could be getting quite a bit of rainfall. About 5" here over the next 7 days per NOAA's forecast.

Spring has been good temperature-wise, but rather disappointing for thunderstorms so far. You'd think warmer than normal would be fuel for instability, but it's been mostly batches of steady rain. More chances coming up in the middle of this week.
Today looks very pleasant - sunny with a high of 76ºF.

Jajajaja Altea maded hot weather Spain paradise bro. WO is forecasting 12/3 for Kronoby and 6/1 for Umeå... I'm pretty sure that's above average by a couple degrees compared to 81-10 for Kronoby, and below average for Umeå. Map doesn't seem bogus to me.

Several stations have set new all-time record lows for May in this very strong Arctic outbreak.
Ålesund AP has recorded since 1958 so even if the stations with very long records have not broken their record, this is serious stuff twitter/meteorologene

Had some torrential rainfall this evening from heavy t-storms trailing behind a squall line. Ended up with 2.91". Not raining now, but I see some redevelopment to the west. Probably more heavy rainfall to come over the next few days.

no frost here; but parts of southern Vermont and New Hampshire got a frost, probably their last of the season. Couple of isolated spots in the Berkshires, too. Was partly cloudy early morning, perhaps clouds stopped cooling.
