Up in Massachusetts. Connecticut River is flooded. Cool and gloomy, stuck cloud is forecast all week over the whole Northeast big temperature contrast north/south of about Philadelphia / Central Jersey Saturday may be warm and sunny. if it pans out, Conneticut River in western Massachusetts could be the Northeast "hot spot" as often happens with spring heat

Next two weeks should be sunny with zero precipitation in the PNW. Definitely eyeballing first 80 of the year soon, possibly even first 85.

We had some frozen precipitation coming down quite heavily earlier this evening, it looked kind of like snow but was also icier so I'm not sure what exactly it was. Dried up for a bit and now we appear to have light but steady snow coming down. Very cold end to April.

This polar vortex does not fuck around. Catastrophic weather the next days.
Lol, 1C high. I doubt it will happen, FMI has a high of 3C, which too would be the coldest May high on record.
Artukainen, which has data since 2003 has had its lowest May high in 2017, with a 5.3C on the 9th.

Massive east-west gradient today. Low 80s in east Ohio 85 in Erie 82 in Dunkirk 78 in Buffalo 73 here 65 in Syracuse 56 in Albany Not as hot as farther west, but still a super nice sunny warm day that came out of nowhere. Forecast high was 63, take that nws! We just had a shower (but not a t-storm ), and had an awesome rainbow.

Got up to 87F here today; warmest day so far of the year. NOAA's May forecast. Looking like we will have a good number of t-storms here if this forecast verifies. Maybe an active month for tornadoes in the southern Plains.

A record high was recorded yesterday at KBTP. 82F, felt sultry and disgusting. Fucking summer out of place

It came down fairly heavily for a while but didn't really stick around.

It has since been revised to 3C on WO and 4C on FMI. Turku's all-time low May high is 3.4C recorded in May 1976. The data extends only to 1959, so before that there might be a lower temp.
Helsinki Centre is forecast 4C for tomorrow and the day after. To find a 4C or less high in May you have to go back to 1981. To find two of them it happened the last time in May 1953.
So a very unusual cold snap with exceptionally low high temperatures.
