To make this a more even battle, use the three warmest months ONLY. This means July-September for Seattle vs June-August for Yakutsk. Which place, in your opinion, has the better summer? This was inspired by a shoutbox conversation where some of you said Yakutsk had a better summer. Seattle's data: Yakutsk's data:

Seattle. Yakutsk sometimes gets freezing nights, not to mention having a noticeably shorter summer with cool average highs in late August and early June.

Seattle! I would prefer a bit more rain though-- maybe more like Vermont or northern Minnesota summers in timbre... I dont mind some hemiboreality/alpine vibe in the summer-- less bugs would be good though... Yakutsk is too much for me since freezes disrupt the growing season...

Seattle due to more stability, in the sense that -8C isn't possible, lol.

Yakutsk due to the daylight, warmer peak temperatures and increased number of sunshine hours.
Very close though. I think comparing June-August would be fairer for Seattle, in either case.

Seattle. Warmer overall and 9C avg lows and negative temps have no place in summer.

Yakutsk due to Seattle being full of hipster vegans.

Yakutsk. Warmer midsummer, more interesting, and gets thunderstorms.
