April 2019 SummaryTremendously bloody dry, especially for midautumn, and slightly above-average (chiefly in maxima). If it were wetter, I would've had a few snowy days—but alas, only two (2)! days of precipitation comprising 7.4 mm were manged this April; drastic down-turn from March. At least I copped a spectacular storm on the 22nd...

Record sunshine, very dry with only one day of the faintest drizzle and one day with short light-moderate rain. About 3'C warmer highs compared to average but normal lows makes the deviation only about +1.5'C compared to 91-18. We had a lot warmer weather in my part of the town, especially in the first half when the snow melted in the city but was still deep at the airport. A few cool highs in the beginning brought the average down a lot, but those days were sunny and calm so they were great days either way. This was a wonderful April.

Here I am for the first monthly summary from Grenoble! I decided to use this weather station as a reference, even if it is not a major one, because it is by far the closest to the city. So, here there are the monthly averages for this year up to April: Here the details on the month: Just for fun, here there is the monthly summary of my birthplace in Italy:

A very warm and very dry April in South and Central Norway, closer to average in the far north.
Trondheim broke a national record for sunniest April ever! Previous record was from Kristiansand, 302 sunhrs. Weather in April: clear skies, sunny, calm air. Repeat. Repeat...
After less than 3.5 years in operation for the sunrecorder, Trondheim now has two national records for monthly sunhrs.
Trondheim AP also set a new all-time high for April, previous record 22°C (recording since 1946). Second warmest Apr since 1946. Some cold days and especially nights from the 8th-15th. 61-90 average for mean was 3.9°C, 1986-2015 average mean is 5°C.
Extremely warm last 10 days of month. 5 days above 20°C.
Warmest low was 11.5°C, coldest high 3.8°C.

Nidaros Lysebotn and Svelgen II managed 9.9'C for their 24h means. And why the hell do you guys have a station named "Fister" lol? Not a single station with >50 years of data in Sweden broke their april mean record.

In most of the country April was warmer, sunnier and drier than normal. Helsinki Airport, Pori and Tampere Härmälä had their warmest Aprils on record, the closest being Tampere being 0.1C warmer than the previous record. The smallest deviations were in the east and north. Only Pori saw normal amounts of precipitation, Utsjoki had fewer sun hours than normal. Muzzies and Somalis were above average.
As a reminder where the places are on the map:
Kronoby had their 2nd warmest April on record.
Poor Utsjoki being a gloomy cold fucken desert:

April in Malta was cooler than average, with below average sunshine & above average rainfall, with most falling during the first half of the month. It was often windy & on the 21st we had a dust storm blow in from Africa, this also caused the temperatures to rise for a one day blast of warmth on the 23rd. Stats from my PWS in St. Paul's Bay: Average High: 20.3C (-0.8C) Average Low : 15.4C (+0.2C) Overall Mean: 17.9C (-0.3C) Highest Max: 27.3C (23rd) Lowest Min : 11.7C (1st) Lowest Max: 17.0C (1st) Highest Min: 18.2C (27th) Rainfall: 33.1mm (126%) Days with Rain: 11 Max Rain in Day: 18.0mm (5th) Days with Thunder: 0 Sunshine: 241.0hrs (92%) Max UV: 8.8 (21st) Min UV : 5.4 (3rd)

flamingGalah, I would say that a -0.3C deviation of a mean temp is average. Everything from -0.5C to +0.5C is to me average, and only -0.6C deviations below average.

Higher deviations in both Norway and Finland at my latitude Shouldn't there be some kind of east-to-west transition?
