flamingGalah , I would say that a -0.3C deviation of a mean temp is average. Everything from -0.5C to +0.5C is to me average, and only -0.6C deviations below average. True, though technically any deviation is still below or above average. Plus in Malta the temperatures are usually very stable so any variance is noticeable & it certainly felt cooler than normal. A possibility is to regard everything within standard deviation as average.

A bit late, but here's KC. A painfully dull month. Temperatures - Overall: +1.7F Average high: +2.4F Average low: +0.9F Precipitation - Total: +0.52"/114% - Technically above average, but 2.99" of those 4.22" came in the last three days of the month, the beginning of an extremely wet pattern. From April 28 until today (May 10), there has been only a single day that recorded 0.0" (May 4). All other days had precipitation recorded. If not for that single day, KC's "longest precipitation-day stretch" record would be broken by 3 days now...and rain is in the forecast for the 11th and 12th too. Snow - 0.0" Snow fell in central and northeastern Missouri on the morning of the 13th, in a band stretching from northeast of Springfield to Hannibal. Models a few days earlier had placed it over KC (showing up to 16" at times), but sadly, it seems most weather events have a tendency to shift southeast this year.

An average month for the most part. The first above-average month of the year but it was within 1F of average and precipitation was close to normal. Some warm days, some cool days, some rainy and some dry. The most exciting weather was the 3 snowy days. Thundersnow was reported on the 10th. On the 14th almost 5 inches fell, and then there was another late storm on the 27th that brought a few inches to most of the area. All the snow melted within a day. Most of the storms went south of Madison so it saw less snow. Somewhere in southeast WI or northeast IL probably saw 12" last month. Also Madison was warmer during the day which is normal. Cold Lake Michigan water gives Milwaukee chilly weather when the wind comes from the east in the spring, and Madison has no large lakes nearby. Last 0C, maybe, was on April 28th for both places. Madison has a chance to see frost still but it's less likely this late in May.

Pretty late on this but it was a boring April stat-wise anyway. There was some interesting weather though like the super windy conditions on the 20th or 27th, as well as generally windy/breezy conditions throughout the month which was quite nice. Pretty dry start to 2019 though. Yet another bad wildfire season on the way it seems...

The sunniest and driest April on record, but notably, not the warmest. An early-month cold spell that brought a 1°C high changed that.

I fail to see how Babu. January: colder than normal Lund. February: warmer than normal Lund. April: way drier and sunnier than normal Lund. May: will be cooler than normal Lund. I'm open to persuation though, so go ahead!

I'm open to persuation though, so go ahead! Obviously every month of a year isn't going to be average. That looks like a normal Lund winter, one month colder than average, the other warmer than average, and then March and April are spot on average if you discount precipitation and sunshine of course.

A bit late, but here's KC. Why don’t you include precipitation/snow days?
