Got 0.32" from a heavy downpour just after noon today; started producing some lightning after it passed thru. I've now had measurable precip for 8 days straight in my gauge (yesterday was just 0.01").
86F at 2 PM with a dewpoint of 78F.

^ Wow, quite insane humidity out there.
Today's high hit 97 F (36 C) with a dew point of around 73 F (23 C) at the time, made the heat index value around 107 F (41.7 C). Tomorrow has heat indices in the 110-115 F (43-46 C) range, we'll see how high it gets!
Hot evening here, as of 8 pm it's still 91 F with a 74 F dew point, quite sultry!

Fuck Rochester!!!! Forecast high was 94 today...well guess what it got to...89 Yes, that’s right. EIGHTY FUCKING nine. FIVE whole F below the forecast. This is fucking bullshit, the whole northeast is going to be in the fucking high 90s and 100s tomorrow while we can’t even get a fucking 90 degree day Dew point hit 77 (25 C), but who gives a fuck when the air temp didn’t get hot. Both things I said would happen did. 1. I’m not there so who knows if it clouded over but it hit 88 at 10 AM then completely stalled rather than warming up. 2. A fucking thunderstorm dropped the mid afternoon temp to just 80 when the high should be happening. Oh, and to make it even worse, Syracuse hit 93 and Albany hit 94. Because of course they fucking did

Only 9 am and it's already up to 88 F with a 74 F dew point (well it's 9:55 am now, so probably even hotter now). I hope we reach triple digits today, high is forecast at 100 F (37.8 C), I'm gonna be pissed if we only hit 99 F or something, lol.

Saskatoon is finally about to get some proper summer warmth this coming week with sunny conditions and temperatures in the upper 20s/low 30s Celsius starting in a couple of days. Hopefully this is a permanent pattern change this summer (not just for a few days) and continues on through August. Mid-June through today has been quite mild and wet and unsettled, not inherently bad conditions but doesn't feel like mid-summer to me, would be nice to get some consistent normal summer conditions for the next few weeks.

What a pathetic excuse for a heatwave! Both days forecast at 94, yesterday hit 89 and today hit 92 " src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/superangry.png"> NWS should be embarrassed...at least nowhere else hit 100...if we can’t get heat then nowhere should. This went from being an interesting heatwave to a completely normal one. Nothing unusual at all. I should never believe forecasts for heatwaves anymore...too much disappointment because they always end up being fizzers. And for some reason every other summer day hits the high between 3-6 PM but whenever there’s a chance at interesting heat, the high always occurs no later than 2 then cools off. Fucking always clouds or thunderstorms or the lake that ruins our hot days.

Fucking always clouds or thunderstorms or the lake that ruins our hot days. Same bullshit happened here. Inexplicably dropped from 97 F to 94 F from 1 to 2 pm, with no reason why it should've happened. No change in cloud cover, no change in wind direction, etc. Almost like it just happened to piss me the fuck off. What pisses me off is it being 97 F already at 1 pm is very promising for a potential 100 F day. w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KIAD.htmlHigh ended up being 98 F, which is kinda of a standard high max for July. Riding around today doing Uber, it was 99-102 F readings in my car, so it wouldn't surprise me if I did indeed experience 100 F today, of course the airport will be cooler than built-up suburban areas since it's a wide open field. Still, only 98 F to show for it on paper. Tomorrow there's another chance, with a forecast high of 99 F. We'll see.

99 was the max throughout the NYC area, occurring at both LGA and JFK. Dew points were in the upper 70s at JFK when it happened, but only upper 60s at LGA (drastic difference). The other stations (JRB, EWR, TEB) reached 98, with low-mid 70s dews at the time. Here on long island (ISP) we hit 97/77. Was sleeping at the time though. Shot some hoops in the evening once the sun went behind the trees (was still like 92/75) and it feels ok as long as I avoid the sun (I'm used to it from Austin).
Even if you go way up into the Adk mountains, Saranac Lake (consistently our state's coldest weather station) had dews in the 70s with a low of 70F. Not sure if that's happened before. Their avg low is about 50F right now. w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KSLK.html

95 F here at noon, which is a degree ahead of what it was at noon yesterday. Hopefully we don't get another bullshit inexplicable drop in temperatures, we have a real shot at 100 F. Warm overnight lows last night, 75 F at Dulles, 81 F at Reagan. A bit cooler than predicted, but a sultry night nonetheless. Looks like the inner harbor station in Baltimore hit 100 F yesterday: w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KDMH.html
