May was cool and wet in Milwaukee, 1.4F below normal and twice the average rainfall with 18 rain days. It rained most days the second half of the month. No unusual heat or cold, several good thunderstorms. 10 thunder days recorded but that seems wrong. Madison saw 6 days with thunder. Year-to-date precipitation is now about 5" above average.
Madison had the same temperature anomaly of -1.4F and similar rainfall. High temperature was about 3F warmer than Milwaukee which is normal. No frost or 30C days, both have a 50% chance of happening in Madison in May.

17.3° average high in May? I'd kill myself, that sounds horrendous

The rest of the country going from south to north: Oulu looking fantastic as always. If it gets 70/50 in June, might be the basis of my dream climate

Here's a range of interesting climates Marble Bar: Carnarvon: ridiculously warm March Wyndham: Australia's heat capital Shannon: a station in far SW Western Australia, south enough to get cool summer days and inland enough to have cold summer nights (less moderation than Albany) Townsville: A cyclone from the 26th Jan-7th February dropped so much rain, notice the higher days but lower rainfall in March and especially April Ouse: Warmest summer days in Tasmania, shows how hot January was even in Tassie. Smithton: north-western tasmania; I've looked around smithton at other stations and they all have ~25-27 rain days so there's a decent chance the 30 days in May was actually real.
