Found a classic Jimi Hendrix vinyl lying around. Brilliant tracks, but sound even better on the vinyl.

Maybe the catchiest Pink Floyd song, except for Another Brick in the Wall. It's a shame TV was still black and white in 1967, psychedelia was all about colour.
I've just noticed, this may be the only time I've seen a band playing behind the drummer.

Pink Floyd live on the BBC in 1967. They certainly knew how to put on a show. Although the host/interviewer almost steals the show with his rudeness, I've never seen such a patronising prick of a man

At first he was mainly just brought in to cover for Syd during live shows, because Syd was unwell mentally. Gilmour's even impersonating Syd's voice here. They hoped to keep Syd on as a non-touring member who could write songs, kinda like Brian Wilson in the Beach Boys. But when he became clear that his brain the extent to which his brain had melted he was kicked out. The band went on to do okay I think Gilmour always felt a bit guilty about what happened so tried to help Syd whenever he could, with money and stuff.

It's sad that people actually went looking for him to take photos and videos. He'd purposefully been a recluse since 1972 and was looked after by his family.
The last time Roger Waters ever saw him was in a shop. When he made eye contact, Syd dropped his sweets and ran away. The stories about his behaviour are crazy. Especially given that he'd been completely normal before late-1967. It's not known how much the LSD might have been to blame, but it's thought that he probably developed schizophrenia.
