Epic day yesterday. High reached 88 (31.1 C).
It was the T-4th hottest October temp ever and the hottest since 1971!
The low was a very warm 68 (20 C), which would have set the October record if not for last year’s 72.
The dews were in the upper 60s too, heat index topped out at 90.
Then around 6 PM, a thunderstorm blew through with 45 mph winds.
This storm raised the dew point to 71 (22 C) which
•ties the October record high set last year •was higher than June, August and September!
I knew with the sun we’d overshoot the forecast, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this good. I was also outside all day—it was great to soak up the final heat for 7 months.
What an awesome day. Makes 2 epic Octobers in a row.

Insane heat in the US! Quite a lot of frost around the UK this morning. Certainly feels wintry here anyway, with a 0.9C low. That's our average January low so pretty cold for early October.

Was a very warm night overnight, didn't drop below 73 F (22.8 C) here nor did it drop below 76 F (24.4 C) out at Reagan, numbers which would be warm even by mid-summer standards! w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KDCA.htmlw1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KIAD.htmlToday isn't forecast to warm up much though, still warmer than normal for the time of year but much cooler than yesterday with a predicted high of "only" 80 F (26.7 C) with overcast skies, will be about 9-10 C cooler than yesterday. Much cooler weather on tap for tomorrow, the weekend, and next week with seasonal highs in the 20-23 C range and cool lows in the 6-11 C range.

Today's high will probably be 5.5C. Coldest early October high since 1977. We barely got over the 5.4C recorded on the 5th in 1966. Average high the 1st week of October is 12.2C.
Cocktober in full swing.
Not what you want.

Much more pleasant this morning, 70 F (21.1 C) with a 53 F (11.7 C) dew point with strong northerly winds, won't warm up much today with a predicted high of 74 F (23.3 C), and then quite cool tonight with a low of 42 F (5.6 C) predicted. Looks like hot weather is gone for good, nothing above 75 F in the forecast, about fucking time!

Glorious fall day...mid 70s with wispy cirrus and a breeze. Forecast low of 50°F tonight, so probably 40s in rural areas.

Wow! That's the same as the all time record here for October. We got up to 97F yesterday. T-storm activity in the area yesterday and today, but I didn't get much from it...

On the verge of recording the hottest temp of the year in October lol. The only month that recorded hotter was July that hit 100 F (37.8 C). Low this morning only dropped to 45 F, a bit disappointing but it's all good, still nice and chilly. At 9 AM the temp is now 48 F (8.9 C) with a 37 F (2.7 C) dew point with a nice, cool, northerly breeze. Refreshing , today's high is predicted at 66 F (18.9 C) with sunny skies.

First real fall morning of the year in western PA. Temperature plummeted to 36F, producing our first light frost. Areas to my north had a hard freeze. Even the city dropped to 42F. Nice!
High yesterday was 58F, today's forecasted to hit 62F

Had a ground frost this morning, the low dipped to 39 (4 C). That’s the coldest since May and the first sub-40 of the season.
Beautiful crisp fall day now with blue dome skies and temps in the upper 40s, heading to near 60 later.
I went for a walk on a nearby nature trail this morning, colors are starting to come in but there’s still a bunch of green.
The cooler temps, colors and the calendar flip to October have put me in fall mode. I never want summer to end, but when it comes I love fall.

What a week it's been! Wednesday got up to 91 F/33 C. Thursday's high was only 57 F/14 and that was at midnight (hovered in the 40s and low 50s the rest of the day) and we had our first freeze this morning with a low of 30 F/-1 C. Fun times.
