Big difference in temps again.
Ignore the 17.9C reading, it's fake news, should be 1.7C.

Babu when did HolmΓΆn record their first freeze this autumn? I was surprised to see that Valassaaret didn't go below until 4 November, and apparently that isn't even any way unusual.

Under slight severe risk today. Tornado risk maybe a bit higher to my north. SPC mentioning an upgrade to enhanced may be warranted later today for an area. Seems like it's been a while since severe weather materialized over my area.

Lakeshore Flood Warning in effect. This is not a common weather warning because it takes high lake levels and a strong east wind. 40 knots = 46 mph = 74kph. Estimated wave heights. 10 foot waves up to the shore. Surf's up! Usually there are a few surfers out when large waves are possible, even if it's well below freezing.
Milwaukee is located near the bottom of the yellow. The lowest of the four arrows that point onto land is the location. About the same height as 12 on the scale.

Tornado watch in effect for north Louisiana. I think I may get storms around 6 PM and thinking the watch may eventually extend to me. Warm, muggy, and unsettled afternoon. 78F with a dewpoint of 69F as of 1 PM. Seeing some peaks of sun.

Winter storm supposed to come through tomorrow. Syracuse and Albany are forecast a foot of snow but NWS says only 2-6β here.
Tomorrow looks like a mix of rain, sleet and snow.
Despite the record cold first half, the month might not even end up top 10 coldest. Through 29 days itβs in 12th. Depends on what todayβs low is.
