In this climate battle we have the driest places on five different continents. I excluded Australia and Europe because neither of those continents have any hyper-arid deserts (less than 2.5" of precip per year) Pick Your Posion Turpan, the driest place in Asia Arica, The driest place in South America Death Valley, the driest place in North America Luxor, the driest place in Africa The South Pole, the driest place in Antarctica

I think I'd go for Turpan. Not 100% sure though.

Arica. Turpan is too hot in summer, and cold winter without snow is worthless.

I never knew Egypt was that dry. I'll pick Arica though. If it's gonna be boring, I'll have it be comfortable and boring.

Death Valley. Only place on this list with even a remote chance of getting thunder. Best temp profile aswell.

No Europe or Oceania?
Arica is the easiest pick ever.

All are crap, but I'd have to go with Turpan. At least there's some semblance of seasonal variety there.

Tempted to pick Death Valley for being the "wettest", but I'll go with Arica. If no interesting weather, I must be comfortable.

Arica. With only slightly more precipitation I would pick Turpan but continentality is not worth much without any change in landscape.
