Hot and muggy this morning, 88 F (31.1 C) with a 72 F (22.2 C) dew point as of 11 am, mostly cloudy skies. Supposed to have thunderstorms later on with a high of 91 F (32.8 C) predicted.
Through the first half of April, we're barely missing a 90 F (32.2 C) average high by a twat hair. 89.8/73.1 (32.1/22.2) through the first half, with 0.44" of precip, lowest temp so far has been 63 F (17.2 C) on the 2nd, highest temp 96 F (35.6 C) on the 9th and 10th.

Yesterday ended up with 0.4β (1 cm) of snow.
This morning had a hard freeze of 24 (-4 c), the coldest temp since March 22nd. Hopefully not too damaging to the spring bloom.
We had a short lived snow squall this morning that made it briefly look like a winter wonderland with snow coating the ground and tees. Never underestimate the strong April sun though, it took less than 2 hours to completely melt.

We have rain in the forecast for tomorrow! Last time we had any rain was in November, if I recall correctly, and it was quite light and turned into snow later in the day. In October we had very little precipitation, and almost all of it was snow in the final week of the month. So the last significant rain-only event I can recall off the top of my head was a period of several very rainy days in mid-September. So it's been a while, and it will be great to see it return. We also have a couple of above-freezing lows in the forecast this week. The last time we had one was on October 17th, so that's also been quite a long time.

Ended up alternating between sun and snow 6 times!
The 3rd squall around 4 PM had whiteout conditions-I couldnβt even see past the edge of my yard. This one also dropped the temp to 30 (-1 c) in the middle of the afternoon, over 25 f below average.
Despite the ground being covered 1-3 times, the sunny breaks in between snows melted it completely every time. No snow cover now.
The high ended up being 39 (4 c), the coldest since March 23rd.

It's been really sunny this past month or so, 34% above average for March (second half much sunnier than the first half), and on pace to get at least that for April.
It shows how cloudy a climate this is on average when a month where it's sunny more often than not stands out so much. If we only had an extra 500 hours or so over the year (which would still only be mid-1800s) it would completely change the experience of living here.

An extra 500 sun hours only yields mid-1800's?
I would die.

Hot and muggy this morning, 86 F (30 C) with a 72 F (22.2 C) dew point, low was 78 F (25.6 C) overnight and today high is gonna "86 F" which is ridiculous, it's already that temp at 11 am and it's sunny outside. Btw yesterday's predicted high of 91 F (32.8 C) and it reached an astounding 97 F (36.1 C) which ties the record high for the month of April, set on April 26, 2015! w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KHWO.html

April can finish below average in Latvia. Temperatures are quite low and with a constant northwest wind Arctic air is coming in all the time.

Over the first 18 days of April, Jandakot has averaged: Average Max: 28.5C Average Min: 14.4C Rainfall: 1.6mm Rain Days: 1 Sun Hours: 134.3 at 7.9 hours/day
In the same time period, Perth Metro has recorded: Average Max: 28.7C Average Min: 15.7C Rainfall: 1.6mm Rain Days: 2 Sun Hours: 134.3 at 7.9 hours/day
Looks like we'll have a dry and slightly-decently above average month depending on how the tail end of April behaves. Sunshine is around average.

Freezing cold at 77 F (25 C) this morning, headed up to a mild 95 F (35 C) this afternoon with a chance of afternoon storms.
We got some heavy rain last night, everything outside is soaked.

Wow! Nothing like that here, as usual any action steers clear from me. Lightning strikes so far:

None of that up here, we had 0.2 mm of drizzle but other than that just solid grey overcast today.
It's been extremely dry here recently, just 2.2 mm of rain in the past 30 days now. The driest calendar month I could find was 7.4 mm in April 2011, so after February we've got a strong chance of our wettest and driest months on record almost back to back!

High yesterday was 38F a -23F departure. Low this morning was 29F a -6F departure. Today was supposed to warm up to near 50F, HA. NW winds are very strong and the cold air above Lake Erie is cooling off most of western PA. We've made it to 45F so yes another day much below average (-16F departure) and below forecast. At least its been sunny all day

We had our first rainfall of the year yesterday, it was very light and short lived but felt quite nice. This is looking to be another dry start to the year, as the past several years have been. Got exclusively spring-like temperatures in the forecast for this week so that's really nice.
Regarding sunshine, we've had 105.3 hours in January, 169.5 in February, and 226.1 in March for a total of 500.9 for the first quarter of the year (stats are published after the end of the month so I don't know how many we have in April so far). It may be overly cold here, but at least we get consistent sunshine.

It's been stupidly dry and very sunny lately here too, with 288 hours over the past rolling month... and 2 mm. Some parts of Paris metro had storms today. Fuck all here, not even the sound of thunder. Very puffy cloud pic from the northeastern suburbs from C.Robin on Infoclimat:
