I know we still have a few days until March, but spring weather always starts up in Late February here and I saw lots of NA having earlier spring. Also talk about the SH weather, I heard the wildfires are gone and you guys had lots of rain.

The daffodils have started to come out anywhere south-facing, usual date for them is about 10-20 March.

A long drought was finally broken today with an impressive 37 mm at one downtown site and 23 mm at another (trace amounts or nothing at other sites AFAIK). Also had a near 28 C dewpoint at one site:

The start of spring is actually looking rather spring-like this year. Tomorrow will be quite cold and windy with a bunch of snow, but after that the whole week has highs above freezing and lows above -10C, which is really nice, and The Weather Network's 14-day forecast is showing almost entirely above average temperatures for the next two weeks.

Got shoots (maybe half of their full length) in NYC and Long Island; seems very unusually early but I'm used to further north. Last early spring was chilly; daffodil flowers weren't out till around April 1, maybe a few days earlier in the UHI of the city.

I've seen them in flower slightly earlier than this even in the Scottish Highlands before, most of the country will have them out by now after the mild winter we've had.

What are your earliest flowers - crocuses, camellias?

Those ones look like the winter flowering species, which are smaller than the 'typical' daffodil. Down here, the smaller ones usually flower in late January or February, while the larger daffodils typically start to flower late February to March. All the bloom charts I have seen suggest that daffodils bloom in mid-spring, which is nonsense. They are usually well past it by mid-April, and tulips are usually blooming then.

After the reverse west windflow, here's the reverse UHI. Paris is France's cold spot on the current temp map:

βSpringβ started on a nice note, 38/17 and sunny. The 10-day looks pretty mild with lots of 40s except next weekend.

After a humid and unstable period of weather in late February. A high pressure system has removed all subtropical influences leading to the 1st and 2nd of March being a breezy and sunny. Prevailing winds starting S/SE early on the 1st tending E/SE throughout the day as the high pressure system moved to its usual position over the great australian bight. Humidity has been the lowest in weeks, very nice refreshing weather to start out autumn. Forecast for the rest of the week is maximums in the low 30s and minima in the high teens early in the week and bordering on twenty at the end of the week. The outlook for Perth in Autumn is slightly above average rainfall and average temperatures. I'd like to have a well above average March followed by wet and cool/mild April and May. www.bom.gov.au/climate/outlooks/#/overview/summary/www.bom.gov.au/australia/charts/4day_col.shtmlMarch 1st Maximum: 28.6C Minimum: 18.5C (SE winds arrived around 2am bringing cooler weather) March 2nd Minimum: 15.7C (30-40km/h sustained E/SE all night bringing fresh temps and the lowest minima since the 9th February)
