If you can hear you should be able to see the lightning, in the distance. Truly cucked.

As much as I hate late season cold, monthly record lows and accumulating snowfall in May sounds exciting! If it has to be nasty, then at least record breaking nasty.

Cherry blossoms in Helsinki. Some lapse in social distancing, but not enough to get the police involved.

If you can hear you should be able to see the lightning, in the distance. Truly cucked. My horizon is blocked by houses and trees, but at least I see the flashes and hear the thunder. 3rd time a cell tangents me. Shit's getting serious in central Paris: We deserved this rain to say the least! It will make tilling easier.

Shit's getting serious in central Paris: 16e is in the west of Paris. All rich quartiers bourgeois in west Paris get rain, while the socialist neighborhoods in the East stay dry.

*Grandes Plaines my main uusimaan bror Shit's getting serious in central Paris: 16e is in the west of Paris. All rich quartiers bourgeois in west Paris get rain, while the socialist neighborhoods in the East stay dry. The commies didn't quite stay dry with more than half of May's average rainfall, though they had less of the handsome warm rain. Western Paris barely missed the triple digit mm threshold. Riviera-esque rain even there. One moar handsome inundation vid As for now... None of that -11ยฐC madness the NE US is getting, but it should approach -5ยฐC @ 850 mbar Monday.

Getting some chilly mornings as high pressure sits above perth. Last 2 mornings have been 5.1C and 4.2C (this morning). Still warming up quickly with a jump from 5.6C to 16.6C between 7:30am and 9:20am this morning; 11C in less than 2 hours is quite impressive. Tonight is looking to head down to 7C for Perth which could result in 5-6C for Jandakot. I've got a feeling this May is going to be colder than average, not sure if it will be wet but it's already around average for the month and it's only the 10th.

We had some epic snow squalls in central Long Island today. I managed to catch a rough video of one while riding my bike; it starts to get quite heavy around 0:40. The temp was around +7c, but the 850 and 500 mb levels were record cold (-10 and -30c).
I'll post related photos later.

Binghamton will likely finish with a 35F high for the day. Iโll have to check how extreme it is, but I wouldnโt be surprised if this is by far the coldest May 9th of all time. This is just unbelievable. How the duck do you get a 2c for a high this deep into May

High today was 40 (4.4 c), which smashed the daily record and was only 2 F off the monthly record for May.
This was the coldest May high since 1989 and the last May with a colder high was way back in 1947.
The low of 29 (-2 c) also set a daily record and is tied with last Tuesday for the coldest May temp since 1979.
There was some non sticking wet snow in the morning, NWS unfortunately wonโt post snow totals until tomorrow so Iโm not sure if it was measurable or not.

May 8th saw 0.5 inches of snow in Binghamton. One of the latest snowfalls of such magnitude! Surprisingly May 8th-May 9th have been kind of a bogey date for snow and cold blasts. Quite a few years recorded saw snowfall on these days back in the 60s and 70s

My hometown of Chapel Hill has a chance of a freeze tonight. If it happens, it would tie for the latest freeze on record. Meanwhile, it got down to 39F/4C in Norman this morning, which is around the record low for the date.

Bunghole: Yesterday tied the old record for coldest May high with 35F...stupidly enough the previous 35F also happened on May 9th 1966, so this wasn't even the coldest May 9th on record 3rd coldest May high is 38F, so these are clear anomolies

Really impressive!
And coldest May high 38F / 3.3C in Rochester.
It is colder than here! Could have understood that if it was the low...
Trondheim AP at 63N and just 3 degrees south of the Arctic Circle: The coldest high in May ever recorded is 3.8C / 39F on May 3th 2010. Second coldest is 4C on May 3th 1957.
The sea to the north/NW of us helps it seems.

Yeah nidaros, Bunghole never stops amazing. This is a place at the same latitude as Corsica, Marseille, northern Spain, Croatia, etc. And in May with the very strong sun as well. I'm at a loss for words Official report from NWS Binghamton confirming the (tying) of the record low temperature Kinda crazy that by far the coldest highs in May happened on May 9th! Would've expected them to happen in the first week at least. Pretty crazy coincidence that they happened on the same day, that deep into the month Bunghole also apparently set the record low for May with 24F Believe Bunghole set the record low for November last year as well
