Much colder than yesterday, was 63 F (17 C) at this same hour yesterday. Today will hover in the low-mid 30s all afternoon, which yesterday it was 70 F (21 C) in the afternoon, so almost 40 F colder than yesterday later at the same time.
1.17" of rain fell in the squally thunderstorms out ahead of the cold front around midnight. Temperature dropped from 55 F (13 C) to 35 F (2 C) in an hour from midnight to 1 AM. At one point, there was a 30 F (17 C) temperature spread in two cities 30 miles from each other, it was 63 F (17 C) in Peachtown and 33 F (1 C) behind the front in Druid Hills.

Yesterday was a horrendously hot day, reaching 35.2°C at 16:46.
Heavy thunderstorms and rain broke out through the evening since 22:00 and finished only about 1 hour ago, dropping 35mm of rain before 2AM, with a very rapid temperature drop.
Later today, temps will still increase to the high 20's, reaching about 27-28°C, with much lower humidity, DP's around 18-20°C instead of the recent 25-27°C. Thundery showers will be widespread in the area through the afternoon.

**WINTER STORM WARNING**
A deep area of low pressure will be making its way into in the Winter Haven area, combined with cold air, will bring the first significant winter storm of the season. Some areas south of town will initially see a mix with rain and sleet before transitioning to all snow. Winter Haven and points north will see all snow. Accumulations will generally be between 6 and 10 inches, with the potential for a foot plus in some higher elevated, northern suburbs. This system will also bring winds of 20-30 mph with gusts to 45 on occasion, so reduced visibility will also be an issue. Please take precaution if you're going to be out driving.

A winter weather advisory is in place from 11 PM tonight to 9 AM tomorrow. 1-3" of snow is expected with winds up to 40 mph and temps as low as 20 (-6 C).
