^Snow depth wouldn’t decrease as fast as you’re portraying it to with the current conditions in your fictional climate, especially not a snow pack that was layed down 5 months ago.

Meh, I didn't put that much thought into it. And lol, if it had been laid down 7 months ago it would have formed in late August, been more like 5 months (since late October). I'm sure with such a huge snowpack, highs near 60 F (16 C) in the afternoon, and the fact 2.5" of relatively warm rain fall, and the strong late March sun, that much snow could indeed melt.
Snow is certainly gonna stick around later than normal this spring though, will probably last well into May.

Storm system is moving through the region right now, dragging a cold front and a strong trough with it (meaning temperatures will drop dramatically in the next 48 hours). Due to cold air aloft, snow is mixing with rain despite the well above freezing temperatures.
**BLIZZARD WARNING**
A very strong low pressure system will be making it's way through the region for the next 60 hours, bringing sharply dropping temperatures, very heavy snow and very strong winds potentially gusting to hurricane force. Low visibility and drifting will be cause for concern, as well as low wind chills.
