First two from northern North Vancouver taken two weeks ago during the first heat of the year. It's Mount B aker, which is pretty far away: YOU CAN SEE ALL THE WAY TO ANOTHER COUNTRY! Checked it's 70 miles away; Abbotsford and Chilliwack are much closer

bike ride yesterday to the Berkshires with short hikes Deerfield River lined with leafed out trees. Fast change lamb came out to see me the rest followed leaves getting smaller up here new house being built in the middle of the woods; kind of a shame; but maybe doesn't harm much? bad semi-abandoned road I wish I had chosen to bike on short hike to Tannery Falls hike up Spruce Hill, summit is at 2600 feet. Mt. Greylock across the valley. Adams in the valley bottom Really buggy, full of gnats and black flies. Leaves coming out here. North Adams Hoosac Range to the north descend out of the Hoosacs back down to the Deerfield valley on Route 2. Forgot how amazing this road is. Driven it a few times, wasn't really paying attention carefully to the road and it flew by. there was a 25 mph section; good sign it's a good road when a rural road is that low. Definitely curvy for a state highway made it to Florida! stopped in Shelburne Falls on the way back

^That house looks like it's about to fall over. Ugh...
Nice forest pics. Also the one from the top is cool where you can see green gradually becoming brown as elevation increases.

First day above 13'C in over a month. 18'C or something like that which felt super nice, finally. Birches are finally mostly green, which means most trees are various shades of green now. Well almost all trees have some level of leaves. Such nice and mild weather when I left work at 8pm. About 14'C

Quite a noticeable difference in leaf-out progress just between 9pm yesterday and noon today. Now pretty much all trees have leaves except for aspen trees. Me and a bunch of my friends went to drink beer in the sun, though I didn't drink because I had work in the evening (and I'm not allowed to drink with my adhd medication either).

SPEAGLES84 TRIP TO NORTHERN PA MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 2020 (May 22 - May 25, 2020)
Took some pictures up at my friends camp this past weekend. It was cold and rainy still (even at the unofficial start of summer in the USA, Memorial Day weekend). Picture from 2200' - Trees still very bare. Sunday we hiked to a vista at about 2100', Mountains in the distance approach 2600', valley below is about 600'. Huge difference in greenery from top to bottom - and even southern facing slopes to northern facing.
This picture could not be more Northern PA. Hiking up to the rocky summit Huge rock that reminded me of a Easter Island Face a bit. Near the summit there was a rock that was severed by glaciers, pretty cool to walk through Bigggg Rattlesnake we ran into on the dirt road back to camp trying to warm up.

Couple of weeks ago. Had something of a drought, and the river dried up faster than any girl I've tried to flirt with.

Went to the national park east of Helsinki today with my mum, sister and the dogs.
The area nearby is typical Southern Finnish salt-of-the-earth rural landscape: The road from the parking lot, or car park as they say in Britain was pretty good. The forestry service probably uses it: Some birch has decided to do a pro gamer move and lean above the trail to get more ensoleillement: Look at that aspen. One day before June and it's almost bare. Boke: Looking down on ne of the few "hills": Our destination was the lake in the park, and to get there the path got narrower and the forest more dense: We sat down on the rocks by the lake and ate lunch. My mum is vegetarian and my sister vegan, so no KFC or similar. This was the view: From southwest of the lake: And south: We took another path back which was more coniferous: Came to this clear area. Most trees had been cut down ages ago. I guess this is an area cleared after a small forest fire: Going back this was another peculiar area. On the left there's full-grown ass trees, and right an extremely dense area of young birches and maples. Probably a site of an old forest fire area as well: The "hike" was around 6 km, temp was 21-22C and clear skies, as you can see.

Well, it's a national park near Helsinki, so it's not historically the most lucrative farmland. Most of our forests are just like yours, the trees are just a bit taller and the undergrowth denser.
But it's been a couple of years, so I could do a hike to Ruissalo which is the largest oak-dominated forest in Finland. goo.gl/maps/MoySojFjxjmtyNK77

Did some tourism in the nearby countryside yesterday, within the 100 km radius it's mandatory to stay within until Tuesday. Nice medieval house in the small town of Vernon: Collapsed medieval bridge over the Seine, complete with a small house on it! The grass looks dry already: 300+ ensoleillement hours this month. Cloudless sky again: Evreux cathedral, one of the few buildings that weren't bombed to ashes during WWII: Nice view from a village nearby: Cherries are on time for June!

^A house on a bridge pillar?? Strange strange. Otherwise, my impression is that larger parts of France are becoming more mediterranean with that summer season steadily becoming longer and warmer.

That's for sure. Look at the state of the grass on the first day of summer (yea, that's my finger): Apparently that building is an old mill: fr.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Vieux-Moulin_(Vernon)
