I don't think it's pointless to defend someone new to this forum when a veteran unfairly accuses her of doing wrong or not fitting in.
WTF? I didn't accuse anyone or imply anyone "not fitting in" whatsoever. IDK how anyone can draw such a conclusion from a post like this:
Doña Jimena , you're new and everything, but we have a tradition that the general photo threads are for pictures we take ourselves, and which are seasonal. Your picture is apparently from summer and from a previous year, and thus it would be more suitable in the General Chat Thread. We don't really have set rules on this forum, merely traditions, so they might be a bit confusing. Go out tomorrow and take some pictures of a local park or something, and then post them here. I think many people would be interested in what it looks like in Riga.

You came across as pretty condescending imo. But whatever, I know you were just trying to be helpful, and I'm sure Geba didn't take it in any negative way either. I probably overreacted.

Taken on the hot evening of April 30th... it's a very strange feeling to be walking on ice and snow while the air temperature is 28C!

We're having an average forecast now, after the last week of cool and cloudy weather, so hopefully we'll see some progress now. We're slightly behind 2019 in terms of leaves, but 2019 had one of the coldest starts to May in decades, so in a week, we'll probably be ahead of last year. Today: Yesterday one year ago: More comparisons: The difference on the pictures above isn't that noticeable. It's more noticeable in these two pictures (although the picture taken last year has got advantageous lighting). Today: Yesterday last year: Last year, some birches had started getting leaves, even wild ones. This year only a select few planted birches in the absolute center of the city, where the ground is heated during the winter, have the tiniest of leaves.

No, more pictures... taken by you!

Yeah Doña Jimena you should definitely post pictures. I wish everyone on this forum would post pictures, at least during the seasonal transitions. I love seeing the what it looks like in all the different places us forumers live, and it's especially interesting to see the differences during seasonal transitions.

Of course people would be interested in them, because we haven't had anyone from Latvia before.

Ah, drama! I don't know why I always cause so much drama. Maybe it's somehow related to the fact that you're a woman? Men are ready to drama on behalf of women.

I love the scenery of B.C. and Alaska, great pics candle I've been in that spot, too; barely out of the city. It's only about 4 miles from where candle lives, 7 miles from downtown Vancouver. Impressive how spots like that are so close to west coast cities.

Nice clear sky, mid to high 50s. trees are behind Babu but birches grow leaves faster + photos below are in the hills which are a bit behind. from Bardwell Ferry Bridge you can make out small leaves more
