A warm, cloudy and dry April. Really the whole month was absolutely carried by the period from the 6th-11th where we had our hottest and most intense April heatwave ever. Both Jandakot and Perth Metro broke their April record maximums by 2.2C and every station in the Perth area (besides Mandurah) broke their April record maximum by at least 1C. Aside from that 6 day period the month was actually fairly cloudy, benign and slightly below average. The period from the 11th-30th was below average at daytime pretty consistently, but cloudy resulting in minima staying 1C above average. Actually a fun fact for Jandakot is that only 8 days were above the average of 26.2C. The other 22 days were below average which shows how intense that heatwave was! Jandakot High Max: 39.2C <3 (11th) Mean Max: 26.2C (+0.4C) Low Max: 20.7C (28th) Monthly Anomaly: +0.7C High Min: 20.6C (7th) Mean Min: 13.5C (+1.0C) Low Min: 6.2C (3rd lol) Rain: 16.4mm (39.4% of average 41.6mm) Rain Days: 7 (-0.2 days) Sun: 223.5 hours Sun/day: 7.5 (-0.6/day) Perth Metro: High Max: 39.5C (11th) Mean Max: 26.4C (+0.5C) Low Max: 20.8C (28th) Monthly Anomaly: +0.7C High Min: 21.7C (12th) Mean Min: 14.7C (+0.9C) Low Min: 8.9C (3rd) Rain: 13.2mm (36.7% of average 36.0mm) Rain Days: 9 (+2.3 days) Sun: 223.5 hours Sun/day: 7.5 (-0.6/day)

Bingley (54N 2W) Mean max: 14.0C (+3.3C) Mean: 9.2C (+2.3C) Mean min: 4.5C (+1.3C) Precip: 14.4 mm (-80%) Sun: 203 hours (+53%) The last three days cost us what would have been a record dry and record sunny April, but it's still been a really good month. And here's the year as a whole, all four months above average temps and sun so far and rainfall for the year is well above average just because of February alone.

April 2020 was very cold, particularly highs. It also was quite wet (towards the end of the month, had 1.5" the last 2 days of April and 2" a few days before).

Marble Mar Ridiculously hot in the Pilbara this April. ALSO MENTAL FACT: Marble Bar averages 2.7 days of at or above 40.0C. April 2020 had 11 such days. AND EVEN MORE FUN FACT: 9 of those 11 where in the latter half of the month. So yeah...pretty fucking incredible April for Marble Bar. Mean Max: 39.0C (+3.0C) Mean Min: 24.2C (+3.1C) Wyndham Not as anomylous in Wyndham but still hot as balls. Mean Max: 38.6C (+1.8C) Mean Min: 24.8C (+1.4C) Albany Unfortunately Albany station only recorded about half the month so I can't use it. Will have to use Albany Airport which is more inland so it gets higher diurnals. Warm and dry in Albany. Also add that the January rainfall data for Albany Airport is a bit blank so there very well could've been more rain. Albny Town station recorded 11.8mm over 6 days, meaning the Airport figures do seem right, but take them with caution. Also fun and probably first-time-to-ever-happen fact; both March AND April had high record maximums than January and February. Mean Max: 22.5C (+0.6C) Mean Min: 13.0C (+1.3C) ADDITION: Karratha: Ridiculous minima anomaly on the Pilbara Coast. Mean Max: 36.2C (+1.8C) Mean Min: 26.1C (+3.3C)

The first ever April in Toronto history with NO DAYS 15C or above... a topsy-turvy month with above seasonal weather April 1-13, brutally below seasonal April 14-23, then ending on a warmer but still below seasonal (April 24-30) note. Irony is not lost that as soon as April is over (May 1) it will be > 15C.
Average High: 10.7C Average Low: 1.1C
Maximum High: 14.8C (April 13) Minimum Low: -4.8C (April 15 & 16)

April 2020 Summary: Absolutely, ridiculously hot. In fact, it was so hot that normal late April weather in the last few days of the month brought down the averages (April was averaging 91.7/74.2; 33.2/23.4 before the 26th). The ridiculous part about this April is the number of very hot (95+ F/35+ C) days, which came out to 8. The second most in any month since the POR started, which to be fair is very short (started in March 1998). Also, eight 95+ days is the average for the whole year! Imagine getting your entire average annual snowfall in October, that's the equivalent. The number of 80+ (26.7+) low was also fucking nuts, with three. Before this April, we had never had an 80 f (26.7 C) low in April. This April was 2.8 F (1.6 C) warmer than the next warmest April, and warmer than any May in the POR! It came to almost exactly an average June (April mean 82.3 F/27.9 C, June mean is 82.6 F/28.1 C). In terms of precipitation, this month started out very dry, but the second half had some good rainfall events which brought it to slightly above average rainfall. All in all, an April to remember for sure. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Average High: 90.6 F (32.6 C; 7.3 F / 4.1 C above the average of 83.3 F / 28.6 C) Mean: 82.2 F (27.8 C; 7.2 F / 4.0 C above the average of 75.0 F / 23.9 C) Average Low: 73.8 F (23.2 C; 7.1 F / 3.9 C) above the average of 66.7 F / 19.2 C) Highest High: 98 F (36.7 C) on April 20th; broke the previous April record high of 97 F (36.1 C) set on April 26, 2015. Highest Mean: 89.0 F (31.7 C) on April 20th (this day's mean was 13.6 F (7.6 C) above average) which is insane for us. Highest Low: 80 F (26.7 C) on three separate occasions; the 13th, 15th, and 20th Lowest High: 83 F (28.3 C) on April 2nd Lowest Mean: 73 F (22.8 C) on April 2nd Lowest Low: 63 F (17.2 C) on April 2nd Precipitation: 3.35" (85 mm; 0.28" / 7 mm above the average of 3.07" / 78 mm) Wettest Day: 1.56" (40 mm) on April 26th Days at or above 77 F / 25 C: 30 Days at or above 86 F / 30 C: 27 Days at or above 90 F / 32.2 C: 16 Days at or above 95 F / 35 C: 8

April 2020 started off absolutely terrible, with mid-January temperatures in the first days followed by persistent March-like temperatures until almost three weeks into the month, at which point it finally returned to normal and ended off on a great note. Even with the warmup at the end it still ended up being several degrees colder than normal, and colder than April in Whitehorse this year, which is pretty phenomenal. It was also a very dry month, like the last three Aprils, but we did get the first thunderstorm of the season during the last week of the month which was pretty sweet. It also had an amazing temperature difference, with over 41C difference between the coldest and warmest high and 28C between coldest and warmest low. Despite the frigid averages, we still managed a record high for the month over 13C warmer than Toronto, whose April mean temperature was 6.5C warmer than us. Average high: 6.2C (normal: 11.2C) Average low: -7.3C (normal: -1.9C) Mean temperature: -0.6C (normal: 4.7C) Warmest high: 28.3C (April 30th) Coldest high: -13.2C (April 1st) Warmest low: 6.3C (April 30th) Coldest low: -22.1C (April 3rd) Precipitation total: 10.9mm (normal: 22.7mm) Precipitation days: 7 (normal: 8)

First 2 weeks were shit, but then we epically finished the month with 15 straight below-avg days. The biggest streak since Feb 2015 if I remember correctly. Very uncommon not to hit 70 in April.
